Recently I had a problem with using the DVC site on my iPad in which, when looking the availability calendar, all future dates showed as unavailable. When I used the site on my laptop, the problem disappeared.

Today, I had the problem again, and it occurred to me to disable my VPN. That immediately solved the problem. This must be set up to discourage web scrapers.

Sharing in case this is helpful for others.

That's annoying, hopefully it didn't prevent you from getting a reservation you wanted.

But I'm not surprised they're doing something like that. I've occasionally had issues logging in to the DVC site with Safari's "Hide IP address from trackers" enabled, which is enabled by default on macOS (or at least was for me). This enables a VPN-ish functionality called "Private Relay" that Apple operates.

Wish they would learn from other sites that have much bigger bot/non-authentic user problems and much lower good customer friction. But DVC's problems are probably so small scale that they struggle to justify investment into better solutions.

Thanks for sharing. I go on all the time using my Ipad and so far, have never had an issue, but at least if I ever do, I have something I can try!!!
