There is a difference between over protective and proactive.
OP didn't say she thought all little girls should be wearing turtle necks and long pants to the pool..... she was trying to give everyone a "heads up" that some little girls suits are see thru. Period. end of story.
It's my personal opinion that people who get so defensive about an issue actually feel guilty. (but what do I know... i'm not a psychologist)
Some of us would love to keep out kids in a bubble and protect them from the world..... then there are the people who would let their kids run naked through the streets of NYC with no supervision.
Neither ends of the spectrum are healthy.
My life was profoundly changed because of sexual abuse I endured. I trust very few people with my children..... and I don't expect anyone to understand why I do certan things to protect my kids.... but I do expect people to respect my decisions.

I can so understand and feel the same way. I teach my kids but I am also very protective of who watches them. They do not go outside alone because there are so many risks and not just sexual predators. It is MY responsibility as a parent to teach and protect MY children. I watch as a friend lets her daughter go with everyone because she needs a break and it scares me for that little girl.
The OP was giving a heads up on something that many people would be interested in knowing. Regardless of anything I don't want my kids in see through clothing. It's not appropriate. Like I said before their private parts are private not public.
but that is what I feel some people are saying, pretty much guilty until proven innocent.
