The new Haunted Mansion: Happy Hunt experience will launch next month aboard the Disney Treasure. If you have a DisneyBand+, you will be uncovering various paintings and other areas throughout the ship that will have a rather scary twist.

Any thoughts, foolish mortals?

DCL calls it "DisneyBand+" but it's the same thing as the MagicBand+ used in the parks/resorts. They work interchangeably.

This sounds very cool, and I was kind of bummed to hear about it, because we sailed on the Treasure back in June and would have liked this. We wear DisneyBand + on sailings we go on.

But then I thought about how horrible and glitchy the Disney Uncharted Adventure game was on the Treasure and how we ultimately gave up trying to play it, it was just so bad. So, I guess I'm just doubtful that this is going to work well. Perhaps that's pessimistic but I've been burned by Disney IT too many times.

What's funny is I saw an article last month on Disney Dining stating that they are possibly doing away with MB's at the parks.

Highly doubtful. Disney loves all the data they collect from the system about guest behavior and patterns. Plus it is something else they can sell... I dont see them going anywhere

They can still get that from mobile device usage and get more actual detailed information from app activity. But yeah, as long as they are making a decent profit off the hardware, the bands will stick around.
