I am one of the people that had a CM give me the code just for asking. I had called and there was no PIN associated with my household. The CM said "but I do have codes available for your dates." and she gave me the 40% off.

What an ordeal. This morning, I tried to see if I could change resorts, add another room and extend my trip. 40 minutes on the phone with the CM......Here's what happened. She said that she doesn't know how the original CM was able to give me the discount because I have no PIN. I told her exactly what happened and she put me on hold again. Came back with her supervisor on the other line and said that they'll honor it but they won't allow me to extend the dates or add another room at the discounted price. She did offer to check the other resort that I had wanted to and she would have given me the discount. She quoted me $5100 for 10 nights GV at the CR for 5 people but I couldn't get it thru New Years Day. Then I said to just leave me at the GF. After all of this, she did check and they have availability thru New Years AND she changed my ressie to include it AT THE DISCOUNTED PRICE. :rotfl:

Thankfully I didn't lose the discount :scared1: but I'm not calling Disney again!

For the more than few of us that just love to change our reservations a couple (ha, ha) of times... that is scary!! I will just have to be happy with my initial WL choice and avoid temptation to call and see about... no stick with WL!!

I have called daily to see about changing to CL at AKL. Nothing has ever been said about my discounted rate. Actually before that, I called & switched from POP to AKL. Then I switched from pool view w/bunks to Savannah view w/bunks.

Nothing is ever said. I will admit that I am nervous every time, lol...

great, and i just figured out that my airfare will be significantly cheaper if i switch it up by ONE day.I didnt realise when i booked the room that im crossing the line on the airfare holiday fare hike lol.Theres a difference of 200 dollars which means even IF fares come down, it will always be more than if i moved the vacation back one day... im almost afraid to call now.

You guys are brave. I avoid calling Disney now. I only check my ressie online once a day. And I offer Universal Studio animal sacrifices before I do that.

I need a support group.

Where have you been looking for airfare? I am waiting for JetBlue, our favorite, or Southwest.

im in NJ which is Continental territory.JB has a terminal there too but i have a ton of ff miles and im hoping to get 1 free ticket, but not if i have to pay 398 for the other 3 tickets.JB isnt out yet. and Contimemtal has the best schedule .

If you have Code+PIN yes, no problem. Issue resides with the people who have discount code without PIN but offered to them by CMs in the first place.

:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2:
Lucincia, Thanks for all the great laughs to distract us from going too crazy reading about all this!:dance3:

I am working up the courage to call - we'll see what happens..:faint:

Check in should be fun. I hope you film it.

Nah, check-in should not be any problem, since most of us who are brave enough to call has been told they will still honor the code, their mistake, without the PIN. So, if they ask for more $ at check-in, I will gladly let them charge my credit card. Then I will dispute it once I get home, since that would be a bait-and-switch tactic.

Sure, most of what the CM from CRO says is worth its weight in Disney IT support (yeah, zero). But, that's the only thing we have to go on so we'll just leave it at that.

Life is a gamble. Can't get any more exciting than this!

This is trip planners' dream! Tackling the ultimate unknown!

I was one who received the 40% off. I just checked my reservation....I found this in the Terms and Conditions link

Room rates are guaranteed as long as your reservation is not changed.

Check in won't be a problem. The package will be paid in full 45 days prior to checkin. My ressie says that rates are subject to change until payment is made in full. ;)

I think this is where a lot of corrections may be made. All they have to do is tell you that the discount does not apply to your change. How are you to know if the discounted inventory is completely booked? I get told that often enough when I try to get AP or resident codes, so they could certainly use it in this case. I do most of my debating of days and resorts before I make the reservation, so I'm not prone to changing my mind (unless I have to cancel altogether), plus, I'm just using my AAA discount. I would hate to be worried from now until my trip that either my res would be cancelled or I would owe more money.
