Warning: Do Not Say Dis!

I believe it. I guess they are just trying to make sure everything is safe for everyone so just don't do it. Why do u even have to know if they are from dis? U can just pm them on this site and say hey! i met u today on vmk! Besides u would probably know if it was them bc most ppl, like myself, have the same names on dis as in vmk.

Dis isn't even a word. Why should it be in the VMK dictionary at all? If they want to stop peple from saying "dis" then they can very easily. You all know the VMK values. Act responsibly and no one is going to get banned.

i don't think that's really true... i've been asked by VMK_Mocha if i posted on the dis so i can tell everyone that getting ice blocks from the games were ok (when you first started getting them) so yeah...

I will say dis if and when i want. If i get banned VMK will have heck to pay for it. I can be VMKs best friend or worst nightmare because they can't ban me more than the time it takes my IP to change. Eventually VMK will stop making boy/girl charectors with generic gendered one so those thousands of child predators that play the game can't tell if you are a boy or girl. because, after all, They can find you if they know you are a girl/boy in the world. . And VMK, if you really wanted to make VMK 'safe' the only way to do it would be to stop the chat feature. I can communicate anything i want in VMK.

Actually, I disagree. If you refer the wrong person to the DIS, they could glean all kinds of information about you, especially if you have been around the DIS for years and post on the other boards besides VMK. If somebody did a search on all my posts, for example, I guarantee they could put enough of the information together that they could get a very good idea of where I live even though I have not specifically stated my location. Pretty scary!

I will add to this discussion a situation on the CB where a stalker found his mark through the DIS. The police were brought in and now this poster must leave the DIS to protect herself and her family. I am not saying that the DIS is not a safe place, but if you reveal too much, you can be found. Therefore, VMK may have decided that saying you are DIS, or fan site or from magic site is just unsafe.

I heard the same thing!! That is why I have done several things with my account on dis. I have removed myself from the frapper map, taken my picture off, taken my name off, made my location more vague and have edited any post I made so that my exact location was not mentioned. It is not just dis, there have been many sites where these "stalkers" have been found. Myspace is a prime example. Also, it has been increasingly worse over the past few weeks. I have heard so much through the news. You can never be too safe when dealing with the internet and chat forums...

This is a warning to people that like to meet other dis peopel in VMK: Do not say dis! do not even say "from that web site", they know whta you're talking about.

So, for all those people that see me in vmk and say," you're from dis, right?", DO NOT SAY IT! They are currently banning people for it.

Jolly, you saw my post here, and you and I already talked many times in VMK today, silly girl friend! You are fine! They are NOT going to come after your pic to describe your teleporter to the kids network, nor the holiday room!

But once I got a ban (my only one) when I had a Dis-only club and I asked a girl if she was DIS. She said yes, and I thought she was lying (she was) so I asked "do you have the same title on dis as on here?" BOOM 2 hour ban. So I've learned not to ask people's title. Although DanMedix was trying to explain what his was at Alien's party too and nothing happened, to my knowledge. He didn't disappear or anything LOL. I guess they do not watch EVERY conversation. I have gotten warnings earlier in my vmk days when I tried to tell my age or something, and I stopped that. Anyway, I can see both sides of the issue here and that's my story.

You only got a 2 hour ban for asking that? A friend of mine got a 10 year ban for answering a community leader that question! They both got a 10 year ban. I think vmk needs to be more consistant with their banning.

This is so true. We all use alternate words "dictionary dance" in order to say what we what, even the staff, even the designers like yavn. I've seen him do it, the one and only time I ever saw him and I was in shock because he use a word to mean a number, I’m sitting there saying to myself “but..but..he isn’t suppose to do that, he is the designer” .

The limited dictionary only served to make people be more creative with what they want to say.
