Warning...Do Not Eat At Turf Club

DH & I returned Monday the 19th after spending 9 days at SSR....We ate many times at the Turf Club...we enjoy the atmosphere the service was great and the food was delicious...Also ate at Le Cellier and Kozzunias...

We have eaten at Turf Club several times too. The bread is excellent.

Are you seriously calling an eleven day old thread an "old thread"? Generally, that criticism is saved for times when people bump up an old thread from at least a year ago.

While we did not get sick from Turf Club, we dined there a few weeks ago and the food was very poor.
We ordered the calamari and half of the plate was rings of breaded friend peppercinis. Not good to expect calamari and get a big bite of spicy pepper.
DH got the pork chop with 4 cheese mac and cheese...and one of the cheeses was blue cheese. so it all tasted like blue cheese.
neither the peppers or blue cheese were mentioned on the menu or by the server when ordering.
also...this was served with the bread that became like rocks once cool and the butter was a cinnamon apple butter. Not sure what part of the entrees on the menu were at all complimented by cinnamon apple butter coming with the bread...was very odd.

my entree was the chicken breast and it was so dry that i needed to chug water with each bite. I asked for mashed potatoes instead of the whole potatoes and was given a plate with no veggies that were listed on the menu. i was told that the peas and tomatoes were cooked in broth with the whole potatoes and if i subbed for mashed then none of that would come with it. they brought out a lil cup of nearly raw peas in canned broth for me to put on the chicken in an attempt to swallow it.
Oh and when we were ordering our entree, the runner came over, physically pushed the server out of the way while we were talking and giving our order and put down our appetizer and blurted out what it was cutting me off from ordering. Was so rude that i was stunned.
the chef came out and talked to us for a rather long time about these issues. i tried to give constructive criticism in a positive way after nearly 50 trips to disney. I was given a lot of excuses about them not getting the first dips on quality product and that the menu would be changing and that we should come for lunch sometime cause it's so much better. he gave me his card and said to email him and come in later in the week and he would like to see us then.
the menu for lunch is mostly sandwiches/burgers.
but he made an effort so i decided to give it a shot. this was a monday. i emailed him the next day and said we would be there for lunch on friday. i never heard back from him all week despite asking if he would be there.
i cancelled the reservation because it just clarified the issues going on for me...lots of excuses and little delivery. (we also talked about olivia's. he said they were the sister restaurant and i said they do a phenomenal job and are on the same budget!!!)

i never did hear from him.
he said the menu is changing around now.
i'm not eager to go back.
it was pretty horrible quality.

My husband and I have eaten at Turf Club many times - both when staying at Saratoga and when staying at other resorts. It's a quiet, relaxing restaurant with a great atmosphere. A nice break from the parks!

The tomato basil soup with goat cheese is maybe one of the best plates on property. It has been tweaked over the last few years, but is still delicious. We pretty much always have that, but everything else we have had has been lovely as well!

If you haven't tried Turf Club, don't be scared away because of this one person's experience!

Turf Club is one of our favorite hidden gems along with Captains Grille and neither have ever disappointed.

Loved the Turf club! Would travel back there to eat if we weren't staying at SSR. The server was excellent and so kind to my children. We ate outside, had great food and great unhurried service.
