Warning – Crazy child at airport

Just a pre event warning to anyone who will be on the 6.15 flights from Manchester to CDG this Sunday We are on this fight with DD daughter who still doesn’t know we are going to DLP. We have set things up so that she knows we are going on holiday but thinks it’s a last minute standby and we will get told where we are going at the airport. So be warned that there maybe some screaming and running around when she opens the envelope with the ticket in it

We’ve had this booked since last August and managed to keep it secret all this time!

We are doing similar, our DDs know we are going away but think we are going to a friend's caravan. We are doing a treasure hunt on Sunday morning in the house before we leave - they will find out then - an hour or so before we go! So, we too will have 2 hyper children on the flight (in fact the whole holiday!), but we are not flying from Manchester! I pity anyone sitting near us .

You have done so well to keep it from her this long! I didn't book until Jan/Feb so it hasn't been as long but a few times myself or my Mum (in particular ) has almost dropped me in it. I'm beginning to wonder if DD1 almost suspects. I half think she is going to say "I knew it" when we break the news . DD2 will be none the wiser and will be sooo excited!

Having surprises like this is so special for them .

Yeah it has been along time but the best part has been the fact that every month at some point she has asked if we can go back to Disney. When we explained what a standby holiday was she said, 'I hope it's Paris.'

Love the standby holiday idea because that means you don't need to hide the fact that you're packing etc but you can still have the magical moment of surprise.
