Has anyone here ever been on the WB tour?

The kids are really up for it and very excited - Harry Potter, two and a Half Men, Friends etc - BUT there is a problem I'm not game to talk to them about until I actually talk to WB.

It says the minimum age for the tour is 8. My son is 7, and a tall boy who certainly doesn't LOOK 7. At first I thought that we'd be okay with fudging it and just walking in - it said adults need to show ID. But I've looked into it a bit further and a few places have said that ALL ticketholders need to show a valid ID. Including kids?? Since when do kids routinely carry ID?? (yes yes, I know his passport would be valid ID but it will show he's 7 until December)

Feeling a little glum about this one this evening, and wishing it was the morning so I could phone WB studios and get this cleared up. :sad2:

Hi, I'm sure I have read about that very thing on here someone and somebody took their child under 8 without a problem. Especially if he's close to 8 I can't see there would be a problem and OOps he will just have to leave his drivers license at home that day :rotfl2: I really can't see them denying you entry but maybe double check. From what I remember about the other person who posted when they enquiried they were told it was more about being quiet etc for the duration of the tour and if they thought their child could manage it then it was up to them.

We're deciding whether to go there or not too. I feel we should as it would be something we haven't done before, but it would be a day away from Disney :confused3

Thanks Lovin.

I actually spoke to WB directly and they said they do NOT check kids ID. They use common sense when allowing kids to join the tour - if you child shows up, looks about the right age and is behaving themselves, then they won't question it.

If the child obviously looks and acts younger and is behaving as though they may make the tour uncomfortable for other patrons and life difficult for the tour guide, then the family will respectufully be asked to reconsider their decision to take the tour.

They often get guests who are sold tickets by travel agents etc who fail to advise them of the 8 year old cut off and they do use their discretion.

All's well! :cloud9:

I'm pretty sure it was Kylie that took her 7 year old on the tour. She said the age limit is because it's a working set and you have to be quiet and kids need to be well behaved. She did say her daughter did get a little bored, if I remember correctly.

I really wanted to do this tour too but my youngest is only 6 and we really didn't have a lot of time in Los Angeles to squeeze it in so I didn't bother pursuing it. I never mentioned it to the kids because of the 8yr old cut off age but they saw a pamphlet for it at our LA hotel and they were really upset that I didn't take them on it. So I've promised we will do it next time when they are all aged over 8.
