Hi all, so my wife is a diabetic with Reynaud's disease. This results in her being painfully cold very easily when most of us might be comfortavle. and we are going to Disney next week. Saturday for example will be in the 50s.

Now for sure she is bundling up, but I was curious since there are so many articles out there about cooking off in the parks. Any tips on places to go, things to do while in the parks to warm up on a cold/cool January day.

Thanks!

Many attractions are in doors, Hall of Presidents, Carousel of Progress, Philharmagic ect at Magic. Virtually everything at Epcot is indoors, and rarely, especially in January would those lines extend outset except maybe for Frozen. And of course there's plenty of shopping to do inside.

It looks like this cold snap will be gone by the weekend, so hopefully it's nice and warm during the day at least.

Is it mainly her hands? I have a friend who has a battery powered hand warmer that she keeps in her pocket. Her hands are always cold!!

As cold hands and feet can be so frustrating, annoying, and sometimes almost debilitating, I recommend very warm gloves and socks. It may not be a bad idea to bring along a few of the heated hand warmer packs, especially for the evenings, when temps can really drop, this time of year.

Sometimes, the A/C is cranked up, especially in restaurants, so I make sure to have an extra jacket or sweater along, even in warmer weather. If going to a table service restaurant, ask to be seated away from air conditioning.

AT EPCOT, the presentations at Canada, France, American Adventure, and China last about 30 minutes, on average, and are inside theaters. The American Adventure will be undergoing refurbishment "early January till early February."

At Animal Kingdom, the Festival of the Lion King is inside the Harambe Theater, which is temperature-controlled. The show is extremely entertaining and lasts about 25 minutes.

If menu items are a concern, know that Disney is very attentive to special needs. Let your server know of dietary limitations, if need be. Very often, the chef will visit your table, to make sure that your special needs are accommodated.

Be aware that if you are using Disney transportation between parks or park to hotel, etc., the waits can sometimes be in excess of the stated 20 minutes, which can seem like eternity in cooler weather. If you are staying at a Disney resort and the temps are not comfortable, you may want to inquire if you are eligible for the Minnie Van service for a ride to your destination.

Have a great trip!

Bring layers! Living there a few years back we had a few cold snaps that once the sun went down, we were FREEZING, I remember wearing socks & (light/stylish) boots, watching DEP with FROZEN toes, not envying all the performers wearing character heels! Gloves, hats, scarves, multiple layers helped a lot!
Also those little pocket hand/feet warmers!

There are also many indoor attractions! The same ones/places you'd go to cool off in the heat, you can go to to warm up in!
