We are leaving for Disney on Wed, Nov. 26th for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Will it be warm enough to swim? We're staying at the HIFS. Wondering if we can swim in the pool or maybe even head over to Typhoon Lagoon. We've never gone this late in the year.

thanks!:earsgirl:

Welcome to the DIS. It may be cold in the morning but usually warms up nicely during the day. All the pools are heated so it shouldn't be a problem to go swimming.

mom2willnash - welcome to the boards!

We're 1/2 way to Disney....made the trek to the in-laws today and catch the plane tomorrow! We've got our swimsuits packed and plan on doing a little swimming if we can squeeze it in. The highs are suppose to be in the 80's all next week.

Have a great trip!

We just got back, and yes it was warm enough for swimming, just try to swim in the middle of the day.

Have fun.

The forecast thru December 3 is for high temps around 80. Yes, that will be great for swimming. Last year (same time) we only had a few days when the high temp hit the low 70's and those days were ok for swimming. Most other days had temps in the 60's and it was a bit too cold to really enjoy swimming. It was fine in the water............but once you got out....BRRRRRRRRR. This coming week it might be a bit cool for evening swims, but still doable. Looks like the forecast high temp for Dec 4 through the next weekend is for highs closer to 70. The December 4 MVMCP might be a chilly one.

We go in January/Febuary every year. We pack our swim suites and go swimming almost every night. The only night we don't is the nights we stay for a night show. We are from north eastern US, the only part where the winter lasts 9 months so we might be more then a little used to colder weather but as a rule we swim!

www.weather.com has average highs and lows and is a good place to check.

Warm enough to swim is relative. We are from Minnesota and the pools are heated, so as long as their isn't frost, its warm enough to swim. We go to a hottub party in January every year (wear your boots and bathrobe out to the hottub, but I've been out there when its 20 below). And I've been swimming in unheated lakes in April.

But at Disney people DO look at you like you are a little nuts if it doesn't get into the mid 70s at least.

By the end of March it should be warm enough in Orlando even for people not hardened by harsh Winters to swim. Of course, there are those freak years where it is unseasonally cold.

We went last year at this time and went swimming every day. Some days the temps were only in the high 60s, but the pools are heated and being from upstate NY, it seemed very warm. One morning we were in the pool at 8 am and others were heading to the park and looking at us like we were nuts! I guess everything is relative!
