Thursday 17th August
We woke after a good nights sleep and went to Disneyland Park. We collected fastpasses for Buzz and Big Thunder Mountain. Actually we got two lots for BTM because the fastpass machines were being a bit temperamental and a CM was giving them out to everyone, even to people who had successfully got some from the machines ~ and these ones didnt have a time slot on!
We then went on the Mark Twain riverboat. We had been looking forward to this as the riverboats havent been running on our previous visits. We really enjoyed it and the scenery was fabulous.
We went to Buzz Lightyears Pizza Planet for lunch. Samantha and Francesca had a Mickey pizza and Bryan, Danielle and I had a pizzaburger which was rather different! It was lovely and cool in here and the play area looks like a godsend for parents with small children. For those who havent been, its not my dodgy photography ~ the lighting really is this colour!
After lunch Francesca and I queued at the Princess meet and greet near the Castle stage so she could have her photo taken with Cinderella. The others went to ride Autopia. After what seemed a lifetime we eventually got to the front of the queue. The others turned up just in time to gatecrash the photo ~ we had been queueing for so long they had even been to ride Pirates of the Caribbean after Autopia!
The reason the queue was moving so slowly was because you got to meet two princesses ~ two for the price of one!
After Cinderella they moved across the stage to meet Sleeping Beauty.
It was then time for our fastpasses on BTM so we hotfooted it over there and rode it
and then again
with our anytime fastpasses. Glad we had these as the standard wait time was showing as 65 minutes.
Next was Star Tours
I love this ride, then it was time for our fastpasses for Buzz.
Then we watched the Princess Parade. Great as always.
We videoed this, then it was time for our reservation at Plaza Gardens Restaurant. It is very beautiful inside here and the buffet was very good value for the price ~ 20 euros for adults, 10 euros children.
Whilst we were in here it absolutely bucketed down with rain
but luckily it was all over by the time we had finished. We wandered down a fairly empty Main Street (the torrential rain must have chased everyone away) looked in a few shops then caught the bus back to our hotel and had an early night. The next morning we saw on the news that thunderstorms had caused flash flooding in Paris the previous evening so we felt very lucky to have been cocooned in the Plaza Gardens at the time.
All in all a lovely second day.
