War Sucks. P & PD

Yeah, I know that everyone already knew that, but we just lost a friend. His name was Allen, and he was a good man, husband and dad to 2 children and within a couple of days of adopting 3 more.

He was sent to TX last week with serious burns, after his unit was hit by a missile. But it seems to me that they should have been able to help him. Just goes to show what I know.

Please keep him and his family in your prayers. I have no idea if they will still let his wife adopt the kiddos (1 Autistic others have other probs.) She and her oldest son are stuck in TX until they can get a flight home. Her other son is stuck here without his mom.

Please let me know if your friend's family need the names and addys or phone numbers of organizations to help with cost of traveling back and forth or with hotel stay. There are several very good organizations that have been created in the past three years that help with these sort of expenses as well as established organizations that have been around forever. You can email or PM anytime and I will do all I can and put you/them in touch with the correct people. I know that many many familes are not aware of the resources out there to help them in this time of need. God Bless that family.

I imagine the family is probably at BAMC (Brooke Army Med Ctr) in San Antonio, like Lovemygoofy said there is alot of good organizations to help the family. If they have not already tried, the first one that comes to mind that is right near the hospital is the Fischer House. Unfortunatly I am up the road 3 hours at Fort Hood, PM me if you need to and maybe through my office contacts I can get more info. My prayers go to the family!

Thank You so much everyone! I think the church is going to get them home today. They have been supplying food and childcare also. Luckily a friend had traveled (to BAMC) on tuesday. So she has someone there and a shoulder (other than her son's ) to lean on.
