Here's some Wanyama Safari info I got today if anyone's interested. It's offered 7 days a week and costs $190 for anyone staying at AKL. Maximum number is 12, with a 1 1/2 hour safari tour at the resorts followed by a "5 course" dinner (I didn't know there were 5 courses) at Jiko. Everyone meets at the Jiko podium at 3:45. The minimum age is 8 YO.
Also, Ceramics painting is held in Simba's Cubhouse on Monday, Weds, and Friday. Jewelry making is on Tuesday and Saturday.

Hmmmm, that price seems like it went down a bit. It used to be over $200 unless you were staying concierge level. I LOVED Wanyama safari. WELL worth the price.

When I booked the safari for last January, they told me $190 each, but the actual charge was only $179 each. It was a truely fabulous experience.:)

Yes, Diane, agree about the price and that even at $210, it was worth it. This is my second time, and the only thing I can think of that's actually gone down in price! Last time Kidani was just being built, so I can't wait to see it now.

We are staying AKLV CL in Oct for the 1st 3 days of our trip, and arrival day we are considering doing the Wanyama, but it depends on the budget..If we were going tomorrow, it would be out of the question, but 6 months from now, who knows? I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts and opinions about the Wanyama.

I think it's a wonderful tour for adults, but I really don't think I would take children on it. The price is one thing, but mostly it is geared toward an adult audience, and the food at Jiko is served family style and not necessarily to the palettes of most children.

The fun part about the safari is that the animal care takers who drive you around know a lot of details about each animal. Things like their name, their ages, which is the dominant male etc. etc. etc. It was a LOT of fun.

We are going on the Wanyama Safari next week. I was quoted $190.94 per person.

Well, that's good, Diane, because I don't have any children:rotfl2:

Thanks for your input, we are leaning towards going for it:thumbsup2
