We've eaten at few of the "signature" places at WDW, but our budget only allows for one this trip so it needs to be good ;) We want something tasty, romantic, and memorable. We can't do Victoria and Alberts =( I was skipping the few Epcot ones because we are going for Food and Wine Festival and want to do that instead, since that is the reason we're heading down and will spend lots of time there tasting.

What do you suggest? Good/Bad experiences to share?

We've already done Yachtsman, Fultons, Brown Derby.

I chose Citrico's over Artist Point. They both have REALLY good food; however, Artist Point is not overly intimate. It has high, soaring ceilings, tall windows, tiled floors and wood chairs. It is a lovely restaurant but can have a "cold" feeling. Citrico's food is so close to being as good as Artist Point, it's really a toss up but the atmosphere at Citrico's is VERY comfy.

I think Citrico's is one of the quietest WDW restaurants, and I've had far better experiences and food overall there than at AP.

I chose Flying Fish. Had wonderful dinner there on two occasions. The Boardwalk takes you away from the hustle of the parks. A leisurely stroll on the Boardwalk, a champagne toast and late evening dinner at Flying Fish is heavenly! Their risotto is to die for and the waitstaff excellent, polite and informative.

Been to all but Bluezoo, and have loved them all. We do Artist's Point each trip to see a particular cast member (and enjoy the heck out of the meal), but I voted for Citricos, which we didn't get to last time. :sad2:

I haven't tried all of your choices, but I voted Ca.Grill. I have eaten at Narcoosees and my recollection is that it was very noisy in there. :earsboy:

I have dined at most of your choices and I think bluezoo meets all of your requirements!

We STILL have not dined at Flying Fish and have only had dinner at Blue Zoo once. The others we've dined at multiple times and we enjoy all of them.

But for your criteria, I think Citrocos fits best.

BTW, does the background music at Blue Zoo bother anyone? I enjoyed it but it was too loud for my DH. It detracted from his meal as he couldn't hear the rest of us. Perhaps it depends on your seat. :confused3

We went to Bluezoo last week and loved it!! The main course was great and the dessert was even better. It is by far the best meal I have ever had at WDW in a modern/elegant setting.

We are Cal Grill fans and always will be. Loved all the other restaurants but the Cal Grill is perfect for us and our little get-a-way without the kids.

been to flying fish and not all impressed
don't think jikos has the ambience

my vote is CG

but my suggestion to you is look at menus & decide for yourself
pick the foods that intrigue you most

It's not on your list, but I would suggest Palio's at The Swan. Italian at it's best, with strolling musician's. IMHO it's one of the most romantic places at the World. :)

My DH and I absolutely love going to CA Grill - the food is wonderful. My one complaint about it though is I find it very noisy and too brightly lit to create an intimate atmosphere. If you do go there, I would recommend requesting one of the tables in the back room overlooking Bay Lake (I think it is called the wine room). It is still open to the rest of the dining room by a door but the noise is much more muffled. This separate little area with only about 5 or 6 tables I think is much more intimate and quiet and the view of Bay Lake is very nice too. I find the lighting in this room also seems to be a little dimmer and therefore creates a nice feeling of ambience. We've never had a problem getting a table in there because everyone else I think is requesting views of the fireworks. Fireworks can be romantic too but they only last a few minutes and then the bright lights come back on and the noise level rises once again.

Enjoy your nice dinner whatever you decide. :flower:

Palio's in Swan is excellent and very romantic

Also, Bistro de Paris on 2nd floor in Epcot is really romantic

I know you said that you had discounted Epcot restaurants because you ard going for Food and Wine, but from the criteria you listed then Bistro de Paris would be perfect. The food there is completely different from anything you will get from the Food and Wine stalls, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Thanks for mentioning that... I had considered Bistro due to reviews on here about it, but wasn't sure if we'd want to enter Epcot for it instead of doing the festival, you know? But it is one place we'd like to try... lots to consider! I just wish we had the funds to try them all! =)

...book as late as you reasonably can at night. We usually trie for around 8:45 or 9 pm...kids bedtime after all! Of course, now that we're parents, this will no longer work! And, since my daughter has really diverse tastes, yes, she'll still go to places like Artist's Point etc., but we'll be there around 6 pm. She's generally well-behaved at restaurants, but still, detracts from the romance quotient, IMHO.
