I'm looking for a good AAA agent that can help with booking our Dec 2006 trip. Anyone have a great experience with one they'd like to share? Please PM me with any recommendations.

I've tried searching through AAA related posts, but can't find many.

I used Michelle Shears with AAA Vacations in South Carolina. Very friendly and knows her stuff.

Hope this helps! :wizard:

Do you have to use your local agent or can you use a AAA TA in another stats if they are recommended as good with Disney planning?

You don't have to use a local agent. I did, at first. She wasn't very Disney informed & was quite unprofessional. I cancelled my ressie with her & rebooked with Michelle Shears, who is in SC.

As WDWBetsy said, she is great. I have had ABSOLUTELY no problems with her or my current ressie. She is great.

I used Michelle Shears, also. She was absolutely fabulous and got us exactly what we wanted. When the free dining offer came out last year she was on the horn and had our ressie changed in 20 minutes. I set up a specific date to pay off the balance of my trip so the charges would hit my Disney Visa and I could use the reward dollars, and she took the initiative of contacting me several days before to verify this was still how I wanted it done. I can't say enough nice things about her.

Good luck!

I'm using Michelle Shears right now for our December trip. She is wonderful. I had a horrible AAA agent last year (they didn't pay our balance off and our trip was cancelled- it all worked out ok but was a big hassle).

I am very pleased with Michelle, and she is a certified Disney specialist. She really knows her stuff!

Samsma sent me the name of Michelle Thurston, who happens to have an office right near my work here in Washington! She's been great too.
Here's her info for others who want to use her:

Michelle Thurston-AAA Washington/Inland Bellevue Service Center

Add another happy person who used Michelle Shears from SC. We used her for our last Oct. trip and plan to use her again for our Dec. trip.

Just out of curiosity how much were you able to save? We are going in June and were told we'd only save about 90 bucks (but we need to buy the menbership so we'd only end up saving 40) for our 8 night trip in June with dining.

We are going during value season, so that might make a difference, but we saved about $200 over Disney's rack. We always have AAA, so the cost of membership wasn't really a factor, but I would still feel it was worth it.

d4est did you book with a dining plan too? If AAA is the only discount I can get I'll use that but was curious if you can add dining on to the package? :confused3

Yes, we have dining.

If you want a package WITH dining, the only discount you can get is AAA, & you have to book directly with AAA.
