Hello everyone!

I'm not much of a cook, actually my husband does most of the cooking. This weekend I thought I could make a simple dinner using rice in the main dish.

Anyone have any receipes they'd like to share with me? Or maybe guide me to a website that might have rice receipes?

Something that can be made in 30 minutes or less would be nice.

Thanks,
Diznee25

Hi diznee25
Have you ever seen the allrecipes site? You can type in your choice of ingredients you do (or don't) want to include & click on search & you'll get recipes or you can click on the amt of time you want to have for cooking - here it is Have fun cooking!

Sometimes I fry/stir fry whatever vegetables I have in the refrigerator & serve them over rice. Add soy sauce & it is Oriental. Add salsa & it is Mexican. Add Parmesan cheese, basil, oregano, garlic, etc. & it is Italian. You probably get the idea :)!

Try S&B Curry mix. Here's an Amazon link - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002ITQB4/002-3479893-0556844?v=glance

You can get it many places, some groceries, World Market, and any asian market. Basically it makes a really, really easy and amazing curry stew. You can use a variety of meats and usally potatoes, carrots, and onions. It takes about 20 minutes prep and is ready to eat in an hour. A double pack makes at least a dozen huge servings. You serve it over steamed white rice, jasmine rice is best. This is one of my favorite rice dishes, and whether your taste is exotic or pretty american you'll love it.

lucky_bunni,

Thanks for the idea of using Curry mix! It sounds like a dish my husband and I would both like! I'm Americian and my tastes are pretty bland, burgers and fries. My husband is Asian and loves to eat exotic foods. (He's eaten crickets which at some Asian restautants are considered a delicacy!)

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!
Michelle
