Want To Use Atlantis Property

What all is included with the wrist bands? We were there in Dec and were able to walk around a fair amount of it. Walked outside where there were stingray pool on one side of a bridge and a swiming pool on the other side. We walked through the shops and casino. We were stopped from going into what seemed to be a guest room area. We were able to walk through a tube aquarium where sharks were above us is that suppose to be part of the dig?

The tube thing..with sharks...that is part of the dig.

With the wristbands you get acess to everything at Atlantis that a hotel guest gets...Some of which include...admission to the dig, all the pools, waterslides, private beach, lagoons, water toys like paddle boats or large floats..Oh and....a room.

I think the main reason people get rooms is to use the pools and the great slides. When I stayed there in Aug we always had to show our room key when we walked to the pool to get our wristbands. They were stopping people from cruises from entering the beach and pool area.

FYI, We will be there in early Dec. and have booked a full night room. I was told on the phone that we could get 5 bands for full night or 4 for a day room. Day rooms are not guaranteed to be available though.

I just thought, for peace of mind and ease we should book the full night. The difference is about $99 - but sometimes on vacation you just don't want to deal with running to different lobbies and wasting precious time. I know my family just wants to get in, get wristbands and hit the slides and pools. ?Don't get me wrong, we are scrimping and scrounging for this trip but this is one area I've allowed a little extra. :earsgirl:

BTW, the lazy river tube thing is great! We stayed at Atlantis in August of 2003 (OMG was it HOT) and that was my favorite. The kids pool by Coral towers is so cute too with the little fountains, etc. Couldn't get my son (then 3) out of there. Great photo opps abound.

For those who didnt' enjoy the aquariam (sp?) did you see ALL Of it. There are little alcoves and stuff outside. I thought is was amazing. The yachts in the Marina are quite interesting too. And the Jewish Deli by the marina had excellent sandwiches (cheapest spot inthe resort too). :mickeybar

JMO - best of luck whatever you do.

I would recheck this. We're a family of 5 and had to book 2 rooms there for a normal stay. When we booked the day room on our cruise, we were allowed to have the 5 wristbands. I had called the Atlantis directly just like the other poster a few times prior to the cruise and was given the exact same information that was posted in this thread. Our rates a couple of years ago during the height of the travel season in the Bahamas (which is the winter and spring months) was $200 for the Coral Tower and $250 for the Royal Tower for the day. I called once we had docked from the ship and booked a day room in the Royal Tower and gave them our American Express number to hold it. We then knew we had the room and packed up and took a taxi over to the resort. Check in was a breeze since they already had much of our information and we went right to the main desk to do this. The phone call from the ship was about $12.

I called too. I think it depends on who answers the phone and what mood they are in LOL!

My DD is going to be 2 when we go and one person told me she could be the 5th wristband for a day room and another said no to the day room but yes for a night room and another said she wouldn't need one at all because she's under 3. Who knows! :confused3

I wouldn't worry too much. As long as you are a paying customer and not trying to get like 7 bands for one room I'm sure they will try to accomodate you.

Does a day room include access to the beach? We were trying to do the "Atlantis Beach Day" on our own and the beach and slides are the features that we are most excited about.

TIA!

The day room does inclucd acess to their private beach. The "Beach day excursion" dose NOT include slide use though.

I was also going to say that when were there in Sept 04...the Lazy river was not up and running. Not sure if it was just routine mantainance or what.

At the Atlantis policies certainly do change all the time....after reading all about the day rooms that other DIsers have gotten we decided to try it this past January. We arrived at the Comfort Suites and were told they absolutely never, ever do day rooms...I said I had heard otherwise and was very rudely told that I could book a room for the night and it would be $269.00 which was the going rate.....and I would need two rooms because there were five of us. We scrapped that and walked over to the Atlantis which I know does day rooms and was also told that they never do day rooms and there were no rooms available in any of the towers at a nightly rate. We were so fed up by this time that we just walked until we found a public access to the beach and spent the day on the beach at the hotel right next door to the Atlantis...we had a great time and it cost us nothing but the cab ride over.

And, from what I was told....even the beach at Atlantis is a public beach that anyone can use...the way they get around it is that they won't let you go thru their lobby to get to the beach...you must walk a few blocks and find the public access path and then walk back down the beach to the Atlantis beach which would be a pain.....like I said we just spent the day at the beach by the Atlantis and had a great time!!!

The only guarantee is to book a night room I think. There is no other way to get slide and pool use (unless you get a day room).

The downside is there is no refund if you end up detoured from that port for any reason. I guess you can fight it with your credit card but I believe their cancellation policy is 48 hours.

HTH! Enjoy whatever you decide to do. You can alway make a trip to the Atlantis on it's own for a long weekend sometime.

OOPpss, almost forgot. Summer is Nassau is HOT and there were alot of jelly fish at that time. We went in Aug and all of us got stung once or twice. The locals on the beach told me summer is notorious for jelly fish.

Just a little side note - sorry to be a bummer. The stings were not too bad after a few seconds but for the young ones they may not go back in the water.

It may be because you have a child under 3 that you were allowed to have 5 in the room.
Whenever our friends go there and they go a lot, they have to get 2 rooms always as they're a family of 5 as well. For our planned vacation to the ATlantis, we were also required to book 2 rooms. (We ended up cancelling prior to the vacation and going somewhere else.) When we did the day rooms while cruising we were allowed to book only one room.
