OKAY GUYS I NEED SOME PAST EXPERIENCE
I WILL BE IN NASSAU IN JULY WITH MY FAMILY AND I KNOW THE KIDS ARE GOING TO WANT TO USE THE ATLANTIS PROPERTY
I JUST NEED A DAY ROOM OF SOME SORT WHAT HAVE PAST GUESTS DONE
WHERE DID YOU GET THE BEST PRICE

THANK YOU :flower: :flower:

Best price is usually by booking a night at the at the Comfort Suites where you get full use and charging privelges at Atlantis.... book thru smarterliving.com's link for a 20% discount.
PS ...all caps is considered shouting and is bad manners... you may want to type differently.... thank you!

We got a great price on a day room at Atlantis in Sept...but I think alot depends on time of year of when you go..you know...higher in busy months...and lower in slow months. I'm not remembering when the "slow/down" time in Nassau is...but for some reason I'm thinking it's durring the summer...but I could be wrong. But anyway..we got what i feel was a good rate...there at the hotel/casino (Atlantis)...Of course by getting a day room..you have to go or call the day of and check on availablity....you can't very well pre-plan much. And when we went we were only allowed 4 wristbands per room. I have heard one group given 5 for a day room..but last Sept it was only 4. Same goes for CS...your given 4 wristbands...and everyone must wear one in order to be allowed into the pool area.

Great tip on the comfort inn..I will also be there in July and wanted the same thing. So, my question is this, do you book for the night before, so when you arrive in the morning your room is already ready, but then check out is at noon, or for the day you arrive in Nassau, when check in won't be until 3? I'm just confussed...obviously! :earsboy:

That's a good question...(on when to book the room, the night of or the night before)..You'd probley want to confirm when you booked...but my guess would be to think of when your going to want to use the room...Most people like to come back to the room and "clean up" or rest a bit before heading back to the ship.

If you had your room booked the night before...and had to be out of the room by noon...you really couldn't do that..(for one you wouldn't even get to the hotel much before that)....and if youdid make it to the room and drop anything off you'd have to go back to the room and remove everything long before it was time to head back (alot of places check out is b-4 noon)

...but on the other hand...

if you booked for the night of...your room wouldn't or may not be ready until mid afternoon...so you wouldn't be able to go to your room first thing and drop baggage off (if you need to bring baggage..we didn't). I think if you book for the night of...you can check in as soon as your arrive...but wouldn't be able to have acess to your room until later in the day...but you would be able to head right over to atlantis and start enjoying your day. By the time you were done there (at atlantis) your room should be ready...to freshen up and head back to the ship...

So IMO i'd say book the room for the night you'll be there....To be honest...when we got our day room at Atlantis...we only ended up spending maybe 20min in the room...just before we headed back to the ship...and that was really just to check it out... We figured we were not booking the room...for the room but for the activites at Atlantis. But again that's JMO...and you'd probley want to double check with the hotel...to make sure you can use Atlantis first thing...and all day.

OH...with our day room we HAD to be out of the room by 6pm...but we could stay at Atlantis and use the pools, slides, and what nots...as late as we wanted.

My first choice would be a day room at Atlantis by far. I am just worried about getting all the way there with three children and them not having any rooms for us to use. Then, we would be stuck in Nassau with nothing to do. Anyone know how likely it is to actually get one of these day rooms?

I don't know the odds of having a room or not...but when we went we didn't even ask until mid morning...and didn't have a problem. Although...we did have to ask three of the towers at Atlantis...From what i gathered...each tower can and will book on it's own...I'm not sure if that's with all the rooms or just the day rooms. So while one tower may be out of day rooms..another may not even offer day rooms on that day...but then another one may have some open. We booked ours through the Coral Tower..

Another thought...you said you and your three children...Will it just be the 4 of you? Because you only get 4 wristbands....and EVERYONE who is in the pool area has to wear a writband...even if they are not using the slides or pools. Just thought I'd ask. One idea...you may want to call Atlantis and inquire as to when their busy season is...and when is a down/slow time. I think you'd have more of an idea of how hard a room may be to get....and you could ask them prices for day rooms at that point.

One more thought...you can call Atlantis from the ship or the dock as soon as you arrive...to book a day room...I would guess that would mean you could even start calling as the ship was pulling into the peir.....(we strolled around Nassau a little before heading to Paradise Island...then we went to a public beach for a little bit...all before we even asked about getting a day room...)

so if we have 3 kids would we have to book 2 dayrooms :earseek: Or can you buy a wristband for an additional $$ amount. How much do the dayrooms cost?

I called the Atlantis today. (yes paid international long dist) LOL.
I was told:
1) Can book a day room for up to 5 per room.
2) Can check in any time between 8:00am ck out by 6:00pm-Which is great times for us DCs'.
3) Cost per room is $150-$200. Depending on which area of the hotel rooms you stay in.
4) Day rooms depend on how full the hotel is. She said that most of the time they usually have day rooms and people just show up at the hotel and check in that day.
5) Can arrive to hotel by way of taxi or ferry boat no buses.

Hope this helps
:teeth:

Thanks so much for the information!! I really did not want to have to pay for 2 rooms!! Now I just need to decide if we want to do this. We have 3 kids, ages 13, 12 and 9 who love water parks--do you think Atlantis is worth it??

Thanks!!

:cool1: That is really good to know. (the 5 wristbands)...when we went...we were a party of 4...so we didn't even ask about 5....but they made it sound like it was for four writbands. I had heard of someone else getting 5...but then others saying only 4...but that's good news.... :cool1:

We rented a dayroom at Atlantis last September. It is the slow season there so we had no problem booking the morning we arrived in port. The day rooms at Atlantis give 5 wristbands (as do the "regular" bookings for a traditional stay). The Comfort Suite only gives 4 wrist bands. So for my family of five it was a no brainer. We paid $150 for the day, but our room was in the old building. It was clean and adequate but I would not have considered it on par with ANY four star resort (which is what they claim they are). The main desk can and does make reservations for the entire resort, I'm not sure if there are other numbers to call. They are selling timeshares there so that may be another option.

I was not that thrilled with the resort, to be honest. But the boys liked the slides. The aquarium is small and nothing special.

Does anyone know what their slow season is? Is july slow? Thanks!

thanks guys for all the info
i think that i will be taking a chance if i wait till that day to book the room knowing it might be busy in july
for those that have gone what perks do you gain for having the wristband
its a big group of us going and my family has no problem getting a room but one of the families says it not worth it. i just dont want to get there and then they cry their eyes out cause they are not allowed to use certain things
and of course is one of the grandmothers too so that means no pictures for here with the grandkids

Just wanted to say that when we were there (also in Sept 04) we went to the main lobby/desk to ask about getting a "day room" and were told "We don't do day rooms"..."but you can try a diffrent lobby"..that's when we were directed to a diffrent area of Atlantis to inquire at a diffrent lobby....again from there were were told they were out of "day rooms"...but we could try the coral tower...and finally there we were able to book a room. So even if the main lobby can do the reservation...they don't always. I'm sure they could have booked us with the coral tower right then...but they wouldn't..they just kept saying "they do NOT do any sort of day rooms.

I also agree with you on the...rooms not being anything special...or what I would have thought of a room at Atlantis being.

We on the other had a great time at the pools and slides (the kids loved it)...but the aquarium...wasn't as Grand as I expected.

Scrapperjill, I got the impression that the policys at Atlantis change as much as the tides! I called before we sailed and was told completly different information than when we checked in. It is frustrating because other disboard members go and have such a wide variety of experiences. Your experience was so different from ours and we were there in the same month!

Does anyone have the phone number for Atlantis to call for a Day room when you get there?

Yea...they probley do...(policy changes at Atlantis). I'm just glad we didn't give up until we got a day room...It was well worth it... :goodvibes ...and it it frustrating...with all the diffrent experiences...You think your helping someone out by telling them what you know...but before you know it what your telling them isn't the way it really is...or is now. All I know is what happened to us. We didn't pre-plan going to Atlantis because we were suppose to be on the 7 night Western...but ended up doing a modifyed 7night eastern...so our stop in Nassau was totally unplanned.

FYI, We will be there in early Dec. and have booked a full night room. I was told on the phone that we could get 5 bands for full night or 4 for a day room. Day rooms are not guaranteed to be available though.

I just thought, for peace of mind and ease we should book the full night. The difference is about $99 - but sometimes on vacation you just don't want to deal with running to different lobbies and wasting precious time. I know my family just wants to get in, get wristbands and hit the slides and pools. ?Don't get me wrong, we are scrimping and scrounging for this trip but this is one area I've allowed a little extra. :earsgirl:

BTW, the lazy river tube thing is great! We stayed at Atlantis in August of 2003 (OMG was it HOT) and that was my favorite. The kids pool by Coral towers is so cute too with the little fountains, etc. Couldn't get my son (then 3) out of there. Great photo opps abound.

For those who didnt' enjoy the aquariam (sp?) did you see ALL Of it. There are little alcoves and stuff outside. I thought is was amazing. The yachts in the Marina are quite interesting too. And the Jewish Deli by the marina had excellent sandwiches (cheapest spot inthe resort too). :mickeybar

JMO - best of luck whatever you do.

I should add one note - we will not get our money back if we skip Nassau for any reason. So you should consider that too. It's a bit of a gamble but hopefully Dec won't turn up any foul weather.
