Hi There!

I know there is the 95 exit guide, but that is just a list. So I thought it would be very helpful to people to have a list of hotels that they would either avoid completely or recommend for stops along the way.

This way people wouldn't have to sift through all the info on the 2,000 mile plus thread....which is awesome by the way... to find a recommended place to stay.

So...where did you stay? What exit/town? Would you recommend or avoid it again? Free breakbast or pool, good for large families, that type of thing.

Anyone?.....

How about Hampton Inn? Are they decent and clean?

Thanks!

I need a recommendation for St Augustine, FL. We're thinking of staying over one night and we would want it to be on I-95.

We love Hampton Inns and the Fairfield Inns. Once in southern Ga we stopped at a Ramada Inn Express, and had to check out immediately because of additional guests in the room (roaches!!!) I was not a happy camper!

Can anyone recommend a Sheraton along the way? I have Starwood points to use.

Where would be best for 5 people in Santee, SC....Holiday Inn or Country Inn and Suites?

Thanks!

We have found Hampton Inns to be consistently excellent.

We have stayed with Hampton Inn in Jacksonville, FL, Cleveland, Ohio and Rock Hill, SC. I will always look for a Hampton Inn as a first choice.

I like the Country Inns and Suites Chain. I like the "book swap" in the lobby, the country theming, and the continental breakfast. I have a free night in Orangeburg, SC for our stopover using Gold Points. Each property is different. I sometimes think the Holiday Inns are a little older.

Take a look at tripadvisor.com They have a lot of reviews from real people!!

The Holiday Inn in Santee (stayed there in May 2009) is very nice. Lots of nearby restaurants and the hotel is in great shape. Be sure to stop at a rest area and pick up a SC Hotel Discount Book (free). We saved $40 using the coupon on our reservation.

Stayed (also May 2009) at the Wingate (not sure what exit #) and was very happy. Rate was just under $100 a night, and the hotel was very clean and well maintained. Nice breakfast too!
