Not all marriages are joyful, not all marriages should continue. Some divorces are cause for national holidays, IMO. Obviously not the OP's case, but the generalities were bugging me.

I agree 100% that not all marriages are joyful nor should they all continue. That was true of my first marriage. But I still think the divorce itself was terribly painful and I was sad to end my marriage, as much as I wanted and needed my marriage to end. My divorce was definitely in the best interest of my children and myself. But I didn't celebrate my marriage ending, I celebrated the fact that I now had a future to look forward to and to my new life.

Now, my family would probably agree with you- they thought my divorce was definitely deserving of a national holiday!

I think it's all in one's perspective.

I congratulate you for completing your process and DVC happiness to you. I also send my condolences for your loss. May you life improve from here.
Divorce is something I would wish on no one.

However, I wish everyone could enjoy DVC the way most of us do.
