Here is the dumb question of the day:

How do you address something to mail to the UK? :confused3 My best friend moved to England and I need to mail her Christmas package. I mailed her a couple things and the arrived fine and then apparently I lost my mind. Her last card hasn't arrived and chances are I messed it up. Here's what I think I should do. Correct me if I am wrong.

Street # and Street Name
Allerton, Bradford
BD15 9D4 UK

How does that look? I thank you in advance for your help and apologize for being so dense. Believe it or not, I am not this dumb in my daily life! :teeth:

Looks fine to me and it doesn't matter if you put England or UK because the Post Code (zip) is what gets it here. I sent cards last year from WDW addressed the way you have and they arrived fine.

Did you put a stamp on and did you have a house number?? I know you've put street name but did you have a house number?

Silly question I know but my sister has just done exactly that and forgot to put my house number on my birthday card so I don't expect that to ever turn up!!

How long ago did you send it?

Looks fine to me!

Thanks so much for all your help. I hope I remembered to put the house number on that card! I sent it about 1 month ago, so it is possible that it could be floating around post office land and will still arrive. I know I put a stamp on it because I had to tear a drawer apart looking for the stamps. Anyway, not a big deal. I sent the package just a few minutes ago and although it cost me $35! It is on it's way. Thanks again and I hope you all have a great day!

The only thing I can think of is that the post code is a little bit out -

You say it is BD15 9D4

But our postcodes always end in two letters so the 4 could be the letter A. Even with that slight error the mail should still arrive ok.

Just checked with streetmap.co.uk for the postcode ending with A and it shows as Allerton near Bradford.

Claire ;)

Hmm. Now I am curious about that post code. I checked the e-mail she sent when she first moved and it definately had a 4 at the end. I wonder if they corrected it and I just didn't pay attention. I will have to go check the last thing I got from her. This is stressing me out! There isn't anything I can do about it now. I just hope that package arrives. Thanks again.

Did you put an airmail sticker on the card? Surface mail from the US to the Uk can take up to 6 weeks.

Yes, I am shipped via airmail. It was a bit more expensive than I would have liked, she's worth it.
