Amen! Finally booked something! The Maybelline/Garnier event for 10/13! I've not even checked my calendar to make sure I can do it that day! I was just too excited!:woohoo: 11am-3pm though.

Amen is right! I about fell over when I saw it - I couldn't click Book fast enough! Thank goodness because this morning I was contemplating booking a job that was MUCH farther away than I ever said I'd work!

LanaJae, I'm very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Your family will be in my prayers. :grouphug:

Some more new events showing up here ~

Ms. T's Pierogies at WM on 10/18 2:00-7:00pm

Frey Chocolate Bars at ST on 10/20 2:50-6:50pm

Archer Farms Sunny Cranberry Trail Mix at ST on 10/20 7:50-11:50am

Archer Farms Red Pepper Relish Dip at ST on 10/20 12:50-4:50pm

Archer Farms Raspberry Tea at ST on 10/21 11:00-4:00pm

Archer Farms Swiss and Sharp Cheddar Fondue at ST on 10/21 11:00-4:00pm

Goodness I wish I could get signed up with whoever does my area Targets! LOL I was able to get the yogurt one at Walmart, but that's it.

The directions for the 10/7 Target Cole Water and Archer Farms Granola have me confused. It says to ask the LOD for the pre-chilled water, but I'm supposed to purchase 6
6-packs. Do I not purchase of the shelf? Am I purchasing the 6 packs that the LOD is supposedly chilling?
:confused3 And I sure wish some of these events were coming up for me. I've got Ziploc steam bags Saturday and Targets on 10/7 and 10/14 and that's it.

LanaJae I'm so sorry about your dad  If you are able bring the kit to the store. Maybe they can find someone to do it for you. I'm sure either way you wouldn't be in trouble.

Just signed up for my first event with MC.

But I have a question-- I don't see where it states how much it the pay for the event????

Thank you to everyone for the condolences, I'm sorry to post something like this as I know it's uncomfortable to read when you're expecting another subject. I am still waiting to get an email from Liz. I think I will be able to check email from where I'm at and I'll have a neighbor drive the kit to the store if I hear back, otherwise maybe it will go off-date and I'll be able to go in next week.

My dad had COPD for many years. He was at one time a heavy smoker, but he quit when he first became sick and followed all the doctor's orders. We had a few times where we didn't think he would make it in 2002 and 2004, but amazingly he was doing so well lately that this was a total shock. He lived alone and had visited a friend until about 7:30 pm Monday night and he went to bed and died in his sleep. He wore oxygen to bed and it was still on him and the blankets were wrapped around him, but he was on the floor so we think that he died and then rolled off the bed. I woke up Tuesday and felt something was wrong with him, I began calling in the morning, and it's often that he goes into his town to get the newspaper, but when I kept calling and he didn't return any calls, I knew he was gone (although everyone said I was nuts). I called his friend near supper and she said she would drive there to check, and found that he had died. As hard as it is, this is exactly the way he would've wanted to go as he was so afraid of the process of dying and feeling as if he would suffocate, which we don't believe happened, we think his heart stopped in his sleep.

So thank you again and I will "see" you late Sunday night.

LanaJae, I'm sorry about your dad's passing.

Off all the events listed above today, I was only able to pick up 1. They are listing them in MA, but further away than usual. I'm really hoping its not that I have ALOT of competition all of a sudden. :guilty:

Today's Sam's Choice Yogurt Cream Cheese went will.

I knew I was working this Saturday & couldn't think of what it is. I just looked. Its that darn Curves cereal & bars & Warm Delights AGAIN. Ugh! And at the same store as last Saturday. 2 tables again & another busy day it will be.

The demo lady from last Sat who told another person about MC, also told ANOTHER person TODAY! I confronted her in Walmart & said, look, I only have 2 events in Oct as it is. There is not alot of work for MC. I would appreciate you NOT telling everyone it especially since you decided you weren't going to apply. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

I don't tell ANYONE how to get signed up. I have a co-worker that keeps hammering at me to tell her how to get involved (so she can tell another girl who decided to be a stay at home mom). She always tells people I'm 'mean' because I won't share my 'secret' & the other day kinda got snippy with me saying 'why can't I just give her the events I don't want'... I ended up snapping at her & sternly telling her that it just doesn't work that way... I guess she thinks it's just an unlimited supply & that there are jobs that go untouched... I wish!!!

LanaJae- That was so sad reading about how your Dad died but I think you are right, I don't believe he suffered like he was afraid of! Isn't that funny how we get those "feelings" when we know something is wrong with a loved one!? I send good thoughts to your and your family! :grouphug:

Another vote for I dont tell anyone nor do I gove out ref. cards, jobs go fast enough as it is without me having to refer a gazillion more people.

OK, if I just say "I prefer not to tell you", isn't that going to make them more curious & can't they just read it off the table & box & signs anyway?

What do you actually say to "who do you work for?"

Previously when I handed out referral cards, its because there were ALOT of jobs remaining unbooked far from me. And I only handed them out at stores far from me to people who didn't live anywhere near my stores. So I'm still not sure where all my jobs went. The jobs aren't at surrounding stores either.

Tiny vent: I'm tired of always having to follow up with MC about gift cards for events as extras that are promised....and having to prove that they promised them by forwarding the emails. I'm currently trying to collect $80 in gift cards ...and that's not even counting the $50 I should be getting when this quarter ends from photo points.

Tell them the name of the company the other lady works for. Look up their website and give them that address.:rotfl:

Nah--seriously you are probably at a point where you have to decide if the referrals are worth the $ or not. If you decide not, then simply say there are several different demo companies and she/they need to find the one that's the best fit for them. Point out that you and the other "lady' actually work for different companies. Tell them if they do an internet search they can look at the various companies and decide which one would suit them best. Be very generic in your answer but give out some information. That said--what if an auditor asks that question and you don't refer people to MC?

As far as where the jobs went---I think people are more willing to travel to get to jobs--they jobs seem scarce, the economy may be downsliding so people are willing to travel further and are looking to supplement their income, I know I would travel further for a "nice" store than stay close for a "bad' store, and I think there are just more of us. I know I have now met at least 11 MC people (counting 2 from this board) that cover "my area" just at the ST.

Theoretically, the LOD at Target knows an event is taking place and should have your product chilled and that’s what you’re purchasing. Chances are you won’t have chilled product. In that case, you’ll probably purchase product off the shelf and chill before serving or whatever the Event instructions tell you to do.
Just signed up for my first event with MC.

You should have received a Welcome packet from your staffing agency with a rate sheet. Pay varies by state.

Splash - You could always tell people you work for TMT. And, I’m out of referral cards. Check with me the next time you’re in the store.

As busy as I was last week at Salute to Savings, it was just the opposite yesterday. :upsidedow Once I got to WM, I had to unload in the pouring rain. It poured for 3 hours. The store was not busy at all. I could have stood there and twiddled my thumbs most of the day. I thought it was the weather and another demo lady thought it was the end of the month and “people” didn’t have their checks yet. No Warm Delights at all to sell, 7 boxes of Curves bars, and finally found a mgr to get the Curves cereal, 24 boxes, from the back. Sold all of the bars and 12 boxes of cereal. :thumbsup2 Now, I’m to do the same event at the same store tomorrow. I hope there’s product. :headache: By the way, I used my leftover Curves Coupons from Meijer at WM yesterday. That’s how I sold what I did. I’d ask if they wanted a coupon and then showed them a box to take. My spiel - The cereal is $2 a box and with the coupon, it makes it only a $1. Can’t buy anything for a dollar now. :rotfl: Same with the bars.

I like the tell them TMT idea. hahahaha Even if I said SPI, I don't think you can find them online. I tried for quite a while once.

I was doing that with the Curves cereal coupons I printed from Coupons.com. They were $1.10 coupons off 1 box. So a box of cereal was 90 cents. That's just NUTS!

Unfortunately, I'm maxed out & can't print anymore coupons from there. After I ran out, I was telling people about the website though so they could buy more boxes after the finished they box they were buying. :thumbsup2

EVENT CANCELLED -- 10/14 Archer Farm Cinn Cereal.

I was checking ebooking. Noticed all the events were gone, noticed mine was unbooked, & then received email saying cancelled.

Now I have even less events.

Yep... mine too. The email from Cassie said to look on line for another event that day, "we have quite a few events open for that weekend"... NOT!!!
