My Comcast bill is up over $150 for the triple play. Verizon is running a $99 for two year deal for the 3 services. Anyone have experience with Verizon?

We had it three years ago in Florida and it was a disaster. It was new there at the time, but we ended up cancelling everything with them before a year was up. Good luck!

I have it and while its not perfect im happy much happier than I was with dish! we are on the 3 for 99 plus a extra machine (dvr) good luck!

Love fios! We are moving at the end of the month, and can't wait to drop Cablevision and go back to fios!

Comcast cable used to go out all the time. We have had Verizon FIOS for two years now and it has not failed. There's tax on top of the $99 and you rent the DVR, so your bill will not be $99.

Love love loved fios and very sad that its not available out here in ks. The prices were reasonable, and it was quite stable for us. Like 1 outage in 2 years.

We just got fios after having directtv and so far so good, we are luvin it. Mary

I was spending about $150 for the Triple Play with Comcast and just switched a couple months ago to Verizon Fios HD, which is about $103 with the tax.

It's good for us-- we weren't watching a lot of TV. I know that with Comcast I got a bunch of extra channels like Encore and stuff... seems like I get fewer channels now. But it's ok for me, because I never watched them much, anyway. There also appears to be fewer "On Demand" Free movies available.

I do think it's more reliable-- I was always calling Comcast to "reset my signal", but never have to do that with Fios.

We also got a $300 Visa Gift card for doing the 2-year contract. I think it was definitely worth it for us, but if you like to watch a lot of channels, it might not be for you.

I have no complaints about the service... but we are locked in a 2 year contract right now triple play for $139/mo. after our add-ons it comes to about $200. If you do get fios, try to avoid the contract (yes you can!) so if you need to make a drastic change you can avoid the $250 penalty. I wanted to downgrade to the double play (we never use the landline; don't even have a phone plugged in) and it wouldn't help us today to save $40 a month after half a year (to make up the penalty).

bleh.

love service.
hate cost.
hope you get a better deal!

We love Fios and would never consider Comcast. We have the Ultimate HD which comes with Showtime and Cinemax and we have HBO too plus the multi-room DVR and a set top box. Our bill is about $170 per month and we got a $500 gift card for signing up too.

It's pricey but worth it.

The actual FIOS service itself is great! The customer service from Verizon STINKS! They are the one company I dread ever having to call.

I nevr use my landline BUT i have a old phone plugged into it so that if we have power issues we still have a phone!!
being we live in Fl that happens!

I SO agree with this. EVERY time we have made a change they screw something up and our bill gets messed up. I called to get the multi-room DVR with our triple play and they claimed I would save money by switching plans. I went in to get the DVR and was told the person who gave me info was wrong. They messed up our bill and by the time I had spent 3 hours on the phone with different people I got different answers every time. Service is good and we never have a problem but I avoid their crappy customer service like the plague. WORST. We pay like $150 after taxes and have on DVR that is not multi-room. They are offering it again with a $150 visa card but I don't know if it's worth the hassle.

We've has FIOS for about three years and I agree, the service is great. My only complaint is that since we didn't order a land line and use our mobile phones, they can't look us up by the land line number. Making a change is a nightmare with customer service that was already so-so.

We are looking into moving over from Time Warner Cable to Fios. It would save us $50/month for the first year and then $30/month for the second. The only thing holding me back is that I don't know anyone in my area that has it and I've heard that their customer service is a nightmare. I don't have any issues with Time Warner, other than the cost, so I've been putting off making a decision.

We switched from Time Warner to FIOS about 4 years ago and love it. The internet connection is pretty reliable (with TW we had to reset the cable modem daily), love the multi-room DVR feature and there are tons of free on-demand options.

lOVE LOVE LOVE fios. miss it so much. PLEASE VERIZON COME TO SOUTH FLORIDA. P.L.E.A.S.E.

About how many shows can you save on the multi-room dvr? I'm afraid that one dvr won't be enough for our family.

I have about 50 hours of programs saved & it's 79% full.

Be prepared that Verizon/Fios has been migrating email for over a year and every attempt they have made to perform the task has failed. We used to have multiple homepage issues and email issues daily. Every time Verizon/Fios entered a new market, speeds in the existing areas would slow down. This is based upon 2 years of service in Southern California. Customer service is horrible and the average Verizon/Fios employee lacks complete training and the power to resolve issues. We experienced the best customer service from the reps who were spun off to Frontier Communications. For us, contacting Verizon/Fios was torture! Since we moved to a state not serviced by Verizon/Fios, it took 6 requests to get a box sent to return the equipment. This is not a well run company!
