anybody who have been with a 2-3 month old baby?

We had to cancel our may trip because I was pregnant and so sick:sick: ...I'm due in october and considering going for christmas....I miss disney so much!!:sad1:

maybe it is a really bad idea, I don't know so please if you have experience or just an opinion on this please tell me!

I've gone a few times with when my son was about the same age.

I would suggest getting a baby sling. You'd want your own stroller-as the strollers they have are not for infants.

I nursed my son, so I took I used the baby care centers--a lot! Animal Kingdom has the best, in my opinion. I'll be honest, I didn't enjoy that park as much as Magic Kingdom. I just didn't find that I could as many things with the baby.

There was a mom there that had a 3 month old--who was sick...they were in urgent care the day before, but went to the parks because they had another child.

I would say, that, you'd need to be flexible.

Are you traveling with other children or just the baby?

Oh, wanted to add....Disney will be so magical with the Christmas decorations up!!!

We're going for a long weekend in early December.

We took my son when he was 4 months old, and it was great! Things to think about...

*Take advantage of the baby care centers - they are great!

*We took our entire travel system (baby carseat and large Chicco Cortina stroller). While it was bulky, it was great because DS slept most of the time and we could completely cover him. We also brought the Baby Bjorn which he loved, loved, loved!

*We shipped our formula down prior to arriving at the resort. We simply ordered several cases of ready-to-use bottles from Enfamil (the ones where you just put the nipple on the top and feed) and these were a LIFESAVER. So easy on-the-go and we didn't have to worry about mixing the formula each time!!

Have fun! I think you can totally do it. Oh - one other thing - get ready for HUGE HUGE HUGE crowds. We go every year, so we never feel the need to ride every ride, see every show, etc... Good thing, because the lines were outrageous and even walking on the sidewalks took some serious concentration due to the amount of people. But, if you are ok with that...you will have a blast!

debmom-I have a 7 yo son and a 5 yo daughter. They have been to DW 3 times and these days they keep asking "when are we going back!!!"

What rides can you do with a baby that can't sit? I was wondering that....

For the food no problem I' m nursing but I was concerned about the crowds....we usually go in september...

thanks for your help!

We took DS when he was 3 months old. It really was fine. There wee lots of rides we did together. He loved Small World. We are taking our new baby in September, she will be 8 weeks old.

My best advice was that we knew going into that we weren't going to be able to go at our usual Hyper speed. We just took it easy. DH took our daughter on somethings, or let her play in the play areas while I took care of feedings. With teamwork and a relaxed attitude we had a great time.

We are really looking forward to taking our newest addition!!

so you can just take the baby on you for the ride and it's fine?
I was wondering if I would not be allowed if the baby can't sit by herself...

OMG, I could have written this last year! We had to cancel our trip last May (2008) due to my morning sickness and I was also due in October, so, I feel your pain. We usually go to Disney 2-3 times a year and I could not wait to get back, so, we booked a trip for December 2008. Once the baby was born, I realized that it was nuts for us to go in December since the baby was still adjusting to sleep patterns and eating patterns. I would have been exhausted and unable to enjoy Disney the way I was used to. I called and rebooked for the beggining of May when the baby would be 6 months old. We had a great time, she was already sleeping thru the night, had a feeding schedule and was old enough to enjoy everything (meeting the characters, all the shows, parades). Like mother, like daughter. She turned out to be Mickey's #1 fan :woohoo: I'm not going to lie, it was tough waiting all those looooong months ;) , but, we looooved our trip,it was worth the wait, we even stayed 2 extra days. As soon as we got back home, we started to plan our next trip and we are going two more times this year  Gotta make up for last year :thumbsup2

We took dd at 3 months (thats her and me in my avatar at disneyworld) and she was the easiest thing in the world to take care of! I never once thought - gee I wish I had never come! It was an amazing family vacation!

Do enjoy the baby centers, find out were they are right as you enter. I didn't use them as much as we thought we might because I didn't end up breastfeeding and I think they are a little more useful if you are.

Buy a stroller fan - or something that will cool off baby - you might not need it as much in December, but we went in October and there were a couple days it got a little too hot and we had to wipe her down with cold washcloths in the bathroom to keep her cool

We also took the car seat and that's what she rode around in, snapped it into the snap n go stroller and it was very easy. We didn't use a sling and I don't remember ever thinking we could have used one, but I am not much into slings or carriers.

We LOVED taking dd on anything she could go on, she was mesmerized by the sights on small world and pirates of the Caribbean we did peter pan with her (I think) and I know we did Pooh with her and pretty much all those dark room rides were fine with a baby.

When we couldn't ride with her, we found that having her was actually easier and meant that some of our party could ride more because of the baby swap system - my nieces got to ride lots of rides twice in a row because of that. We had such a big group that we never had a shortage of people willing to wait with the baby and do the swap later - I think that may have been the key...

Have fun!

thank you so much for sharing your experience...

maybe it would be more reasonable to wait ....I just don't know how I can !!!:upsidedow

just see your post and giving me hope again...what should I do?:confused3

I just have to take a decision, thanks everybody:flower3:

You know, we went with the idea that it was a family vacation and we were going to get the most out of it we could with our baby in tow, but actually I really can't think of a better time during that first year we could have gone, she literally slept the ENTIRE plane trip (we live on the west coast) and then pretty much slept during most of the day. I don't remember getting up much with her at night but I think it was about 2 times a night at that point, but she was a very good sleeper... maybe get the trip insurance and wait and see how good a sleeper baby turns out to be??
I think the fact that we weren't breastfeeding ended up being a bit easier too because we could feed her any place any time and even as we were walking at times (and yes I know that some good b/f'rs can do this too, but I was not very good at b/f in public and would have had to have a private place every time)
so keep those things in mind - I really felt that at any other age, she might not have been so accommodating... might not have been content with all the traveling and moving about? Ya know?

It's so easy to take a baby! We took an eight week old. She slept so much, I nurses her where ever we were at, and we rode everything without a height restriction. We all were in the same hotel room, baby slept with me, one other kid in the packnplay, another slept with daddy, no one but me woke up at night when the baby did. I would get a good sling, she spent ninety percent of her time in that. We only used the way down in the car, personal choice, I just use carseats for cars. We also went in December, weather was great and the crowds were so low. We would do it again in a heartbeat with a little one.

what do you do on a ride like soarin? Can my hysband ride with the olders kids and then me with them? I suppose I can't ride these with the baby in the sling?

My son is a foster child so I really couldn't plan for him. Well, he arrived six weeks before our Disney trip. So, off to Disney he went at six weeks old. It was SO easy. He hated the stroller so I just put him in the Baby Bjorn and off we went every day. I'd stop to feed him and change a diaper but other than that, he pretty much just went with the flow.

He will be two Friday and is going back to Disney in a month. I think he'll appreciate it a bit more this time!

You can Baby Swap on all the rides the baby cannot ride, including Soarin.

I know at the very least you will get to ride the ride with ONE of your kids, not sure if they will let them both go with you, you could always ask, but I know for sure, well at least when we went (06), we basically got two immediate use fast passes, so the baby swap person didn't have to ride alone. It was awesome for my nieces!

thanks again!

I'm seriously considering it but a little scared about the christmas crowds....it is probably really different than going in september...
