Wanna talk real estate

So I may be selling my home. I will probably use a realtor, but I'm just wondering if anyone sold their home for sale by owner or using america's choice.

My neighborhood right now isn't the best and I have little if no equity in my home so every penny counts.

I bought this house for sale by owner, for me as a buyer I found it to be stressful. If anyone would like to share their experience please weigh in

I'm also curious as to how much closing costs are for the seller. I know that some are based on the final sale price of the home...like realtor commision, but what about some of the other costs?

If you sell it yourself, you should consider paying a commission to the buyer's agent. We were recently looking at houses, til DH's job got cut, and we considered quite a few private sale listings as long as they would pay commission to our agent. If they didn't pay our agent, we would need to and thus not buy the house.

My parents sold their house themselves using www.isoldmyhouse.com. It took them about 90 days to get a buyer. I helps that I work in a law office that does a lot of real estate closings so I could provide them with the documents they needed. One thing they did was to offer a 2% commission to any realtor who brought a buyer to the table.
