I have never made it to Le Cellier, so never tasted the cheddar cheese soup, so I have made it today, dont know what the 'real' stuff taste like....but just to say my DH doesnt do soup, but is now asking for a second bowl:cool1: . Then of course we needed desert, so I went and made Gourmet Double chocolate chip cookies, from main street bakery. The only difference is I have used cadburys chocolate chunks, so have re-christened the cookies 'Angie's Wishes'. They are wonderful.

BTW couldnt get the mooses ale for the soup so used boddingtons, from UK so it was all I had, it did it for us.

The soup and cookies sound so good. I love the CCS at Le Cellier. Now that you have made me hungry could you send some of both over to my house. ;)

No Problem...I could drop it in, once on a plane you only live round the corner
lol

I, too, have made "THE soup" at home. DH loves it. I always use Sam Adams Light (it's what he has around the house - I don't drink Beer.)

Gotta love those Disney meals at home!

Now, if it would just drop BELOW three digit temps, I might think about making soup . . . Ah, well, Fall is on the way.

Think I must be in Disney mode.....having said that when am I not:rotfl2: I am seriously having major DWS (Disney Withdrawal Syptems)(sp?) so for breakfast this morning we are having puffed french toast (cinderellas royal table), with sausage and proper UK bacon, forgot the maple syrup.....no worries.

Yum! I make the cheddar cheese soup once every winter (we'd eat it more often than that if it were lower fat) and I also use Sam Adams. The soup turns out great!

I've never made the cookies, but they sure sound good. It's fun to get a taste of Disney at home. :goodvibes

That is great that it turned out so well. :goodvibes

BTW - where did you get the recipe for the soup? Thanks!

You can't post about delicious food and not include recipes. :confused3

Seriously....are these recipes posted on the web somewhere, or is some secret Disney cookbook?

You can find a number of the Disney recipes a number of places. Allearsnet has a bunch. Here is the recipe I use for the soup (there are several versions out there!): Le Cellier Cheddar Cheese Soup Recipe (Oh, but I should add, prepared as the recipe calls it ends up with some chunks. I don't really remember chunks in Le Cell's soup, but that may be just me. To make smoother, just puree your vegetables between steps two and three. I just finely mince to start and it passes muster for us, but might not for everyone. Shoot. Another thing - let the beer/ale sit out to get rid of some of the carbonation - I pour it into a measuring cup when I start the soup and let it sit out until the end. If you don't, the soup foams a bit. AND. This doesn't really store and then reheat well, like most cream soups.)

And a general link for the recipes: WDW Recipes

Otherwise, if you do a google (or similar) search using the specific restaurant and dish you can find them elsewhere (several sites list recipes.)
