Wand Question

Hi, so around 2 weeks ago I got an interactive wand at Ollivanders (alder wand), haven't touched it since, but for some reason just today I noticed that there are lots of marks stretching down it on the finish, so it's not a totally smooth dark finish, there are lighter spots. Does anyone know if this is supposed to be the natural design of the wands, or I just got unlucky and picked a worn down one?

What wand is it? Maybe a picture would help

ETA: you literally said alder wand. Sorry.

They are resin, so I’m not sure they could wear down.

Well, it's IS an 'elder' wand. Those are just age spots!
