wand broke

My daughter bought a wand Halloween weekend at Ollivanders and just yesterday she had it out to show her friends and it broke in half near the head. She is almost 12 and definately was not rough with it. Has any else had this experience? I called and they said I could mail it back and they would replace it. (though I have to pay for shipping). My kids worked hard to earn the 30$ so it was a hugh disappointment for her.
 
I'm glad that they will replace it. Hopefully, it was just a defective model.
 
Not a wand, but i had a pass holder i bought at Universal a few years ago. I bought a new one this year as the extendable one i had broke. When i went to check out to buy it, i was saying the other one i had broke, the girl said she could not replace it without the receipt, i told her i wanted to buy it, and she went on to tell me that anything i buy at Universal, if i have the original receipt and it breaks they will replace , no matter how long you have it.

Did you try touching it with the tip of one of the other wands and saying, "Reparo"?
 

The top of our wand was missing when we got home, don't know if it was like that when we got it since we tried to keep it in the box. They were nice enough to replace it for us with a new one.
