Any idea's where to get a lamp similar to the one in his window?
I just saw it on the Trip Report thread.. CM Husband got the tour of his Mainstreet apartment... it's very unique to the era... would love to have one similar!
Hi--I can't tell for sure from the photo, but the lamp looks likely to be a Fenton lamp (an Art Glass company originally from Ohio, I think now they're headquartered in WV). My grandmother was an antique dealer (from Ohio herself) so she collected Fenton. In fact, she gave my sis and I each a Fenton lamp very similar to Walt's (mine is rose colored glass rather than the green that he had in his apartment, my sister's is made with milk glass). What I love about the lamps is that you can light the bottom glass or the top glass or both, so if you just use the dimmer light they make nice nightlights.
The company is still in operation making art glass today (with Fenton's descendants still in the family business). I'm sure you could find a lamp at an online auction site, but if you're wary of authenticity, you could probably order direct from them, or they also sell Fenton on QVC.
