Walt's for Breakfast? Blue Lagoon for dessert?

Well, I promised myself we'd go to some decent restaurants this time... so in that light I have two questions.

1. What about Walt's for character breakfast? I understand that when we stay at a Disney hotel (we'll be at the Sequoia) we can get the character breakfast at a discount? Actually my question is... do we need an advance reservation for that? And if so, whom do I call about that? I've never reserved meals in advance at DLP! :confused3

2. Blue Lagoon. Liav has been asking for 2 years to eat at Blue Lagoon. That's because when we float by it on Pirates, it looks so inviting. But looking at the menu on the food guide today, I really don't see anything there she would actually eat.. and it's quite pricey... so my question here is... has anyone tried to have just coffee and dessert there? Would it be frowned upon do you think, if we came during off meal hours and just ordered desserts? :earsboy:

Thanks everyone! I'm having so much planning today! (work? what's that? Oooohhhhhh... that thing I do to get the money to go to DLP of course!! well.. that can wait while I plan..... - this trip's paid for!! YAY! :rotfl: )

Thanks again in advance everyone!

The Blue Lagoon menu may be out of date - it's changed each and every time we've been!

As far as I am aware they no longer do a character breakfast at Walt's. It's now at Plaza Gardens unless you've been told differently. We tried to book one at Walt's for our trip last month but were told it was now at PG which is lovely and we really had a great time and lovely food. As you've already paid for your breakfast with your room accommodation you do get it at a reduced price. I don't know if you'd need to book in advance although we always do. The number for meal resevations is: 33 1 60 45 60 45.

Thanks Diana, you were right - no breakfast at Walts this year. And reservations can only be made 48 hours in advance for character breakfasts, so we'll just wait until we get to the hotel to decide. Also, in case anyone wants to know, DLP has changed the phone number for restaurant ressies. The new number is:
33 1 60 30 40 50

Now I am thinking we'll have a late lunch at Walts and try to catch the parade form inside the warm restaurant. Anyone ever tried this?

I asked the nice people who do the DLP FoodGuide about this, and they didn't seem to think there would be any problem at all. It would still be great to have definite proof of this - so if you would like to do some investigating for us Jody.....!?! ;)

I'll do that Becky! I am thinking around 4 PM when the crowds are at the parade one afternoon (we are there for a whole week, so we can afford to miss a couple of parades!) we will see if we can do this!

Good idea to try during the parade. I would love to hear if it's okay - if so, I'll probably make it part of my day trip!! :Pinkbounc

We did this on New Years Day a few years ago. We had a truly delicious lunch and then when the deserts were brought out the parade started. We had a magical view of the parade and the snow falling on Main Street. This is one of my favourite Disney memories :cloud9:

I would arrive a little earlier than planned and specifically request a window table, as I think I can remember some of the tables were not located directly next to the window. I really like the layout of Walt's, with the little rooms and different designs. It's definitely one of my favourite DLRP restaurants! :goodvibes

I'd be keen to hear direct experience of Walt's at parade time as we had one of our best character interactions at the breakfast in the summer 2004 :)
