Is it really neccessary to slam an elderly, well respected man just because you don't like what he's saying?

I switched over to take a look and for a man 88 years old, I thought he looked very good and spoke quite well.

He doesn't have my respect. Just because he's 88 doesn't automatically guarantee anyone respect.

In the opening minutes of the interview, he threw out the outrageous comment that perhaps the latest Bin Laden tape was the work of Karl Rove.

I don't think I was slamming him or lacking in compassion for him....I found him pitiful and was embarassed for him.
