Had another good stay at Swolphin a couple weeks ago. It was a resort hopping trip for me with a couple days at dolphin, a couple at BLT and a couple at Swan. I'm crazy like that sometimes pursuing deals, no regets (there was a big conference smack dab in the middle of my trip).
Dolphin- room was ready on arrival around 8am, request to be near elevators granted (this is always my request at Dolphin), but on arrival to the room the door didn't work well. Got in after a few tries and the door would close but not latch so it could just be pushed open. Called (the new phone system is SO annoying with it's text push, it's the same at Swan) and they sent Security. Security showed me how to lift the door to make it latch and said they would send maintance and I did not need to be in my room. When returning that afternoon, door not fixed. Straight to the front desk to (politely) ask for a new room, granted right away with an apology. No issues after. Hotel was busy with a conference but the pool was at like 20% of chairs filled whenever I went. Phins is still good for cocktail, Il Mulino bar was still excellent for dinner, love I can do a half size pasta dish! Didn't make it to the new steakhouse, I just can't eat enough to justify it especially in the heat.
Swan- first time since the remodel, they did a nice job! Loved the carpet under the beds. Received an upgrade to a balcony room on the 5th floor with my Plat status. Didn't care for Garden Grove plat breakfast, better off at Rosa's I felt. Garden Grove doesn't have a buffet anymore. The closet as a PP mentioned is indeed weird, like my shirts were either dragging on the shelving or getting pushed by the ironing board. Safe worked fine. No issues so didn't have anything to report to the front desk. Called for my luggage at one point which is when I realized it's the same phone system as dolphin. Transferred luggage and water bottles from BLT to Swan (I like my own waters) no issues.
Dolphin is still my fav but Swan will do if it's cheaper!
