Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Does anyone know if you can bring a bottle of wine into any of the restraunts and pay a corking fee?

Apologies for the double post...but one other question for this group! Tried to find it in the app and online but I'm pretty sure I didn't see it listed anywhere. Do any of the convenience-y places at the Swan/Dolphin sell beer/wine to go? As in wine by the bottle or 6 packs of beer to take up to the hotel room?

People staying at the BoardWalk sometimes wheel their empty suitcase over to the Speedway gas station/convenience store which is near the BoardWalk. Just thought I would mention it. I haven't done it, so I can't say what the selection is.

Speedway doesn't have a huge selection, but it is worth the walk over for the price differential. That last time I checked the price of a 6 pack of beer at the resorts, it was $36--and that was years ago. Basically you are being charged the same price as purchasing an individual beer from a resort or park bar without the tip.

The selection at Fuel isn't great either. They tried to be too cute and bring in questionable local beers, or at least that's pretty much all they had when I checked.

Swan and Dolphin have a six-pack of Phins & Feathers pale ale for $18. I just stopped by Java in the Swan and didn't see any six packs beyond that, although I think they do have individual bottles of other beers. They also have several different wines by the bottle but I didn't see the price on those.

Hey y'all - anyone have insight into the pool hours, especially during Covid times? I feel like I saw on some websites that the pools are open 24 hours per day with lifeguards/towel service from 9am - 9pm or something like that, but I was actually shocked the pools would be open 24 hours...can anyone confirm?

Thanks!!
Pools were open until 11:00 last week. The slide closed at 5:00.

Hi! I have a reservation for June and this will be my first time on Dolphin, but I have a question ¿Is the water taxi to HS and Epcot working again? If so, how often do they leave.

Thanks!
You may already know this, but since it’s your first stay, I’ll mention it anyway....it’s a very short walk to Epcot and longer but easily do-able to HS from the Dolphin. Use the boats if they’re right there, or if it’s really hot or raining, or if you’re super tired, or just love the boats. But you can walk if you want to better control your arrival time, or there’s a long line, or just want a nice walk.

We're first timers to WDW (family of six, all kids under 6 yrs, one of them an infant) and I'm having trouble trying to book Swan? It's saying there's no rooms for our size family? I've not experienced this yet with Disney resorts, most have a double bed room to book for us, so I am just wondering if there is a room cap of 4 or 5 for the Swan? Or maybe I'm just unlucky that the double bed rooms are not available? Thanks!

Rooms at the Dolphin have two doubles, and rooms at the Swan have two queen beds. What they don’t have, in most rooms, is a fifth sleeping surface like the fold down beds at some of the Disney resorts. That may be the issue that you’re seeing there. Even though most of the people in your party are small people, you still need a sleeping surface for each of them. I would try calling the hotel rather than trying to make an online reservation to see if they can accommodate you.

There are also Suites with higher capacity/more sleeping surfaces. I find they often don’t show up on the website or through Marriott. I’d recommend calling the hotel directly to see if any of those work for you.

Oh ok that makes sense thank you! The Swan looks so lovely, I don't want to miss out on checking it out.

Normal room capacity at the Swan is 4 guests. For families they do offer larger rooms (Family suites) but not for parties of 6 or Suites. Often they offer a connecting set of 2 rooms. A King with a sleeper sofa connecting to a 2 Queen. Often the second room is 1/2 priced.

I always recommend you call the resort directly at 888.828.8850 they can help you with the various room configurations at the Swan & Dolphin and options for your family.

I'll call them! Thanks so much

Oh ok I understand- I didn't realize! Thank you!

How sad are the views from “traditional” rooms?
Most really aren't bad, the old title was "Limited View Rooms" . That said, here are some that we get a laugh at
from amalone1013 and another from amalone1013 and yet another from amalone1013 and one from robinb, can't forget the one from shoreward the dreaded dumpster view photos seem to have disappeared. Keep in mind the S/D has 2,270 rooms so your chances are pretty good and knowing they are not at capacity I think chances of a good room are even better now.

Thanks @Dan Murphy for some reason it didn't show up, I guess one of the scripts I block did that but worked in another browser.

We booked a traditional view king at the Swan. When I checked in last Friday and asked about a balcony room, we were offered an upgrade to one at $25 a night. Best money we spent all trip! We were right over the courtyard and Friendship boat dock. The view was so pretty! We booked on a Marriot employee/investor rate so not sure if that makes a difference or not.
