Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

I don't know since it's the first time I've come across this situation, but I've got something similar going on with my dates. Wanting to check in on 6/14 -- no availability. If I check in on the 13th (at least at the Swan -- but not the Dolphin), I can get my dates. I'm wondering if I can just adjust it later and drop the day. :confused3 I feel that as we get closer to June, though, those dates will open (once the convention blocks are released).

Yes, the 14-16 are blocked out which is why I originally booked the 17th even though we would prefer to go earlier. Ideally I would have liked to arrive the 12 or 13th.

We are limited to the Dolphin since we are a family of five.

Hello Swan and Dolphin lovers,

I just wanted to pop in here and give you all a heads up on something that you may or may not know about.

There is a HUGE convention coming to the Swan and Dolphin, August 4-9, 2015. The musical/educational group "Up With People" will be having their 50th Anniversary Celebration and will be bringing somewhere in the vicinity of 3500 Alumni, families, host families, sponsors and friends of the organization. Numbers could be even higher than this! As of right now I know that most of the Dolphin and part of the Swan are reserved for this convention as well as a block of rooms at the Boardwalk and AKL.

So, there will be lots of very cheerful people, some of whom haven't seen one another in years and years....all over both resorts, in and around the parks and by the pools and such.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up.

Heading to the Swan for the first time on Friday!

Wondering if they take room requests and if so, how to make them?

We'd like to be as close to Epcot as possible (going to miss the 5 minute walk from Beach Club!) and away from elevators (I don't sleep well at hotels). Would I just tell them that?

Thanks for any advice!

We are just home from a few days at the Swan, and wanted to say we had a great visit. It was a little cooler in Orlando than we remember from previous December trips! We were in a renovated king room in the east wing, and it was beautiful (although also no fan). From our window we could see a lot of rooms in the west wing apparently undergoing renovation, workers visible in hard hats. The resorts look just beautiful when all decked out for Christmas!

Looking to head back to the Swan/Dolphin 4/22-4/26 but seeing really high rates...$307 or so for stdrd room (AARP rate!)!

Is anyone getting any good rates for the Spring? I hate staying anywhere else but I'm paying for my Mom and my nieces so I need to try and keep the cost down.:sad1:

Just back from a stay at the Dolphin with DH, DD and her DH. She had booked us two standard rooms and we got upgraded to connecting balcony rooms with a wonderful view of Illuminations! :cool1::yay: We loved everything about the Dolphin.....just didn't enjoy the occasional rain and cold temperatures!:headache:

random question.. does anyone know if the hairdryers at the Dolphin have a cool setting?

Just a little quick hi to everyone.

Having a great time but too cold and parks are really busy. Maybe because of pop warner??......but we are noticing there is no exhausted fan in our bathroom unless its broken. You only turn on the light and that is it.....Hoping to gt to the Garden Grove breakfast buffet on sat. or sun.
Hope you are having a great time, Mary.

As for fan in bathroom, I have never seen a room there with one, one of the small things that always 'bothers' me a bit. I'd like to exhaust all that steam.

Hope you had your Garden Grove, always a nice buffet.

Welcome home, Lora.

As for the fan item, look above in this post.

Always nice to get upgraded, welcome home.

I have $168.02 AAA for 5/10-5/13. This beats the heck out of the $500 a night I have for 3/23-3/26 at Beach Club with a room only discount. I'm planning on canceling BC closer to time to travel. Its booked in case either of our daughters change their mind and decide that they want to go (it's both high school and college spring break week for them). If not hubby and I will go for Mothers Day/my birthday in May

That is a standard room at the Dolphin? I was debating bringing an air mattress and saving $175 on the roll away, but it does look really nice!

Yes, we used starwood points (the minimum) to get a standard room and it was an extra $25 to add the roll away. There was plenty of room.

I'm really excited for my first ever stay at the swan! I couldn't quite afford the cost of the Disney Epcot area resorts, and when I saw the cost of the swan I was overjoyed. Even with paying for a cab from the airport and the resort fee, it still ended up being cheaper by a LOT.

Anything I should know for my first stay?

thank you! So all I have to do is call Bell services at Dolphin? will ASMO allow me to leave my bags in lobby while waiting?

Just triple checking.....since I asked this my plan is reversed and I will need to transfer from allstars to dolphin..... I just bring the stuff to the counter and ask to have it moved to Dolphin?

Yes, still works in reverse,

Hello I am new here :cheer2:

We are wanting to book a suite with a balcony and an Epcot view for next December. Each time I have called, I am told there isn't an Executive Suite or Grand Suite at either Swan or Dolphin that has both balconies and views. Does anyone have experience with either?

Welcome to the dis, teachertink.

I think those suites have resort views of each other, Dolphin<>Swan.

Passing through Florida, we booked at the Dolphin for two nights (we are there now and depart tomorrow) for the first time.

The hotel's assets include a wonderful grand Christmas tree display in the lobby, a first rate breakfast buffet at the Fresh Mediterranean Market (superb scrambled eggs and Mickey waffles!), and a helpful staff. Hopefully, a major room refurbishment is scheduled. Our tiny bathroom area needs to have its chipped bathtub replaced, and new floor tiles are needed; the ripped curtains in the main room need to be replaced now (we reported their condition to the concierge desk), and the rug has seen better days.

All the best.
