Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Does anyone have a recommendation for an ECV company that would deliver to the Dolphin? I'm bringing my 75 yo friend on her first WDW trip. She's healthy overall but her knees sometimes bother her if she walks too much. We arrive Thursday afternoon.

I rented a wheelchair for my mom from Apple Scooters. All went well. I've never rented an ECV, so can't comment on that specifically.

I have used Buena Vista Scooter several times with recent trips, always have been great. Good equipment, good service.

Hoping to not need them on future trips with knee replacement scheduled for Oct 7th. :cool1:

Dan, that was why I rented a chair for my mom. She had a knee replacement in August, and we traveled in early December. She couldn't have walked around in the parks for that long three months post-op. Granted, she was 84 at the time. The good news is that it was an amazingly successful surgery, and her mobility is great now...especially for an 87 year old!

Thank-you.

Thank-you, praying you won't need the scooter again!

Is it confirmed that Swan/Dolphin guests for sure can't score a BOG FP for 21 (or 27) days out as other hotel guests? Or has this changed?

Yes, exactly! I had no problem linking my Dolphin reservation with MDE, but I've tried many times on the separate BOG FP site, and that system won't accept my reservation number. @I loveStitchnippyjon - Did you ever find a workaround in the system in order to make the reservations?

Nope! If they are still doing the same-day return time tickets in December, we'll do that. Maybe we can still just wait in line......we attempted that in June, but the line was just so long and it was rotten hot, so we gave up!
Then again, maybe we just aren't meant to lunch at BOG! ;)

What is the same day return ticket? I'm going in 64 days and obviously have a lot to learn. Honestly if I don't get it I won't be heartbroken but thought it was worth a shot for lunch. I have a 2 and 4 year old - they don't know the word 'wait'!

From what I hear, it is something they are trying out to reduce the wait in line for lunch at BOG. They hand out something similar to the old FP with a return time. I do not know if that replaces the "standby" line or not.....like you, I will be happy if we get in, but if not, "maybe next time!":goodvibes

Experts HELP! My FP is supposed to be tonight at 12:01 (60 days out staying at Dolphin on 11/18). When I log into MDE and click on our names to make FP reservations, why are boxes blue until October 18th? It seems like it's saying that I need to book 30 days out and not 60. Anyone know why this is?

Mine was like that too but once my 60 days hit those days automatically opened up. It was fine and I didn't have to do anything extra for those days to show at the 60 day mark.

Thank you! I actually called and they did confirm this - yes I'm a lunatic! Last question, I have an alcove and regular room and got them adjoining. They said there are no Epcot views for the alcove rooms. Is this right?

60 days before November 18 is September 19, because October has 31 days.

I actually meant 12:01am tomorrow! Too bad I had a work event last night and am so sleepy today - I have to drink coffee to stay up to do this tonight!

So this link will definitely not work for us for BOG FP Lunch for Swan/Dolphin guests?

https://beourguestlunch.disney.go.com

I was told to try it 30-21 days in advance....has anyone had ANY luck with this working?

I do get this message now (just short of 60 days out) - womp womp!

Please ensure that the Reservation ID and names entered below match exactly with your Reservation details.

I've read through this entire thread. Whew!

We will be making our first trip to Disney with the kids (4 and 6) the first week of December. We will be staying at the Dolphin. We got a package via Costco Travel, the room is the "resort view, 2 double" - I'm hoping we can get upgraded to a room with a sitting area or a pull out couch, we are SPG members (just the basic) and we will be there during DH's birthday.

Is it possible to walk to Epcot and get on the monorail? I'm sure the kids would like to ride it, and I was wondering if we could use it as another option to get to MK. I do know that you have to switch trains. Is the monorail station on the outside of Epcot? Can you walk around Epcot to get to it? We have a park hopper, so we could walk through if we had to.

Planning on taking the kids to Camp Dolphin on night and having an adult night out - suggestions for that? DH likes craft beer.

Also, since we will be there for DH's birthday, what places do special birthday celebrations?

Thanks!

Judy

I'm not sure if you're staying at the Swan or Dolphin; the alcove rooms in the east wing of the Swan have views of Epcot. The last time I stayed in a Swan alcove room, I requested high floor in the east wing. We had a perfect view of IllumiNations, and we could even see Wishes off in the distance.

We are in the Dolphin not the swan. I'll have to see what we can do when we check in. Did you get it on check-in or called and requested?

The BOG lunch website asks for a 12-diget reservation number that starts with 43 or 44. I don't know about anyone else, but my Dolphin ressy doesn't meet these qualifiers! :headache::sad2:
