Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

-How is it with ordering with Amazon or Instacart for the hotel? I've NEVER done this (not even at home) and the thought gives me anxiety with the unknown, but I'd love to get a case of water and maybe snacks.
It's pretty simple, but you need to meet the driver either in the lobby or just outside in the car drop off area. Once you place your order you will pick a window for your delivery, you'll input the address and your phone. They will text you when they are on their way, and in some cases they will call. I told them I was wearing a red collared shirt so they could easily spot me. My window was something like 8-10AM and they were there about 8:30 and I was back in my room 15 minutes later. I took down an empty suitcase and put the items in there so I didn't have to use a trolley.

It's very important to meet the drivers, S/D doesn't allow just drop offs and they will tack on a service fee that isn't cheap if you do. They also have no refrigeration for deliveries. If you want the details on the charges I get get you the link.

-I booked through ******************. I know this is a Marriott hotel. Can or How do I link to my Marriott account? My reservation only has 7 #s and it says reservations have to have 8 #s.
In the past I have not gotten Marriott points or night credits for booking through a third party. If you want to link your reservation for another reason I suggest you call Marriott.

You will need to call the hotel direct 407-934-4000, so they can assist you with the reservation # the front desk might be able to assist you if not call M-F 9-4 and ask for In-House reservations.

Posting here to see if any locals / regulars have insight into the Swan Reserve opening date now. I have an early Nov res at the Reserve, which seemed fine when I made it back in Feb but now with the date getting pushed back more I'm getting a bit nervous. I have Plat status w Marriott which may help if they needed to accommodate a rebooking, but it looks like the swan and dolphin (and every other nearby disney resort) are sold out for that 1st Nov days so I'm not sure what my options are if this is delayed further.

@letsgobirds I've not seen anything in various S/D groups that leads me to belive the delay would extend into November. I do think if it is an option they have probably held rooms aside. I don't think Bonvoy status will matter, it will be more based on the room type if a change happens. One delay is understandable but another delay and into November would mean something major was going on.

Yeah, I don't anticipate an issue either, but with the date moving and no good back up plans I started to get concerned

@letsgobirds I agree, I'd say if they miss their late September opening I'd be concerned. But I really do think they have set an attainable date at this point, otherwise I think they would have gone with end of October if they were unsure. Of course anything could happen but most contractors at this late stage should know their challenges and be pretty good at estimating completion. Plus I'm sure there are financial penalties if they don't. Fingers crossed they open on time.

Only concern is on Marriott app it's not bookable until Oct 13. I suppose it could be full the beginning of the month, but the fact it's not available until them makes me a bit nervous

Uh-oh. So far that has never been a good sign.

Hopefully Marriott has blocked the necessary rooms at the sister hotels and can keep relocating people!

@letsgobirds I'd call In-House reservations M-F 9-4 at 407-934-4000 I'd share your concern, and see how they respond. I doubt they can come out and say anything direct but if they offer you to transfer that might be a sign - or it might just be them trying to alleviate any concern you have.

Heads up…..check your bill thoroughly!

I was overcharged for valet parking, and a cabana rental this past July at the Swan. In total, it was around $228.00. It was quite a process getting my money back. I just received my refund yesterday. I had spent over five hours trying to recoup this money. Long wait times on the phone, and sending emails without a response was frustrating. In the end, a very nice woman at the hotel helped me. For my inconvenience, they gave me points after I mentioned the time I spent on fixing their errors. As of today, I still haven’t received my points 🤦🏼‍♀️ I hope they come through, because I have nothing in writing.

Overall, I still enjoyed my trip, and I will stay at the Swolphin again. However, I will look at my bill the night before not the morning of departure.

I am about to click "cancel" on my Labor Day stay at the Swan. With the covid situation and our particular circumstances, it just isn't the right time for my family --- though I have been very reluctant to come to terms with that truth.

The Swan is our happy place. I'm somewhat embarrassed to say that it might actually be my favorite place in the entire world right now. To have to cancel --- yet again --- is downright devastating.

We will be back . . . someday.
:(

I’m getting nervous about the Swan Reserve. I’m now seeing talk of mid October opening. My check in date is October 11th. 🥺
They contacted me by email about my late Sept booking last week so watch your inbox for rebooking info.

First available room is showing 10/13, first room they aren’t charging $1k+ for isn’t showing until 10/31 so your chances of the hotel being open are probably not great 😔
