Don't know if this has been previoulsy posted but TravelZoo is reporting that the Dolphin Resort is $139/night on certain travel dates through July. I've never visited this property but at this price I am definately going to try it.

That's a nice hotel. At that price go for it......

Just be sure you add in any parking and resort fees that apply so you can make an informed decision on what will be your actual price. Enjoy.

great price...go for it...beds are heavenly and rooms are big..

If you love epcot and MGM Studios....best place to be...I love this side of the resorts....

We'll be @ the Dolphin for the $139 / night rooms from 4/28 - 5/5. Our total for the room (after taxes and stuff) was $998 and change. We did the standard room with two heavenly beds and no view.

Even though it's only DH and I going on this trip I was once again to...err...F R U G A L to spring for the room with the king bed. I'm supposing someone somewhere would suggest that it's GOOD for married folks to sleep in separate beds on vacation from time to time... RIGHT? *wishing they had a penny pinching smiley to insert here*

:thumbsup2 We've done it. Even with a king bed at home, we've enjoyed having our own space from time to time.

You will LOVE the location of the Dolphin, view or not. We are big fans of the Epcot/Studios resort area. As much as people feel separated from the rest of the world when they stay onsite, I think it's even more of that feeling when you're staying in that area because of all the options for dining, being able to walk to two parks etc. It's fantastic.

OK I know you can walk to Epcot from the Dolphin (people have mentioned a back entrance that's closer - am going to try to find more info on that) but what other park is walkable? Oh lord, this just spawned a billion questions in my head.... Sorry Y'all!

1) How long did it talk y'all to walk to Epcot?
2) What other Park could you walk to and how long did it take?
3) Where is the "back entrance" to Epcot I've heard people talk about?
4) Did you eat at shula's? Was it any good?
5) Did you take the bus or the gondola thingies to any parks? Which one was quicker?
6) Did you do the counter service restaurant (can't remember the name of it) for breakfast at the Dolphin? Was this a good idea, or better to bring food from home / get it from the parks?
7) Did your room have a mini fridge in it? On the website when I booked my reservation it said the room had a mini fridge, but reading a post on the DIS boards (LOVE EM LOVE EM LOVE EM!!) it said something about a bar, but no fridge....
8) I know "pool hopping" on here is a great taboo - some of the posts get kinda mean about it - but the website said the pool @ the dolphin was under construction or something and that guests were invited to use the pool @ the swan? Will I burn in heck for all eternity if I pool hop over to the swan?:headache:
9) Should I have started a new thread for these questions?
10) Do you think I ask to many questions?????

Sorry for rambling on, OP, didn't mean to step on your toes... but if you're planning a stay to the Dolphin you might want to know these things too... *I'm hoping so anyway, so I don't feel so bad for such a long post*:love:

1) How long did it talk y'all to walk to Epcot?

Depending on your speed, about 5 to 10 minutes. Its a nice walk past the Boardwalk and into Epcot.

2) What other Park could you walk to and how long did it take?

You can walk to Disney Studios, but its a bit longer. Maybe 15 minutes.

3) Where is the "back entrance" to Epcot I've heard people talk about?

The back entrance is between England and France in the World Showcase.

4) Did you eat at shula's? Was it any good? Never tried it, but would love to.

5) Did you take the bus or the gondola thingies to any parks? Which one was quicker?

I don't think there are any busses to EPCOT or Disney Studios (I could be wrong). I've always used the boats, when not walking. Be aware that that boat to EPCOT will stop at Boardwalk and Beach/Yacht Club resorts on its way, making walking faster.

6) Did you do the counter service restaurant (can't remember the name of it) for breakfast at the Dolphin? Was this a good idea, or better to bring food from home / get it from the parks?

I've never eaten at the Dolphin (Swan, yes. Dolphin, no).

7) Did your room have a mini fridge in it? On the website when I booked my reservation it said the room had a mini fridge, but reading a post on the DIS boards (LOVE EM LOVE EM LOVE EM!!) it said something about a bar, but no fridge....

My stay was at the Swan, but I do remember a mini fridge being in the room.

Swan and Dolphin are sister resorts, sharing many amenities, including the pools.

9) Should I have started a new thread for these questions?

Not necessarily.

10) Do you think I ask to many questions?????

There are never too many questions when it comes to planning a Disney trip. ;)

Many Many Thanks Tina!!:worship: My DH will be glad to know we can sleep in a little on our EC and HS days!! I had us getting up early to catch the buses / boat to those parks too! DOH! :dance3:

4) Did you eat at shula's? Was it any good?
Yes, we have eaten here a few times, excellent as long as you like steak!

5) Did you take the bus or the gondola thingies to any parks? Which one was quicker?

Buses don't run to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, you have to take the boat or bus, as Tina said the boats do stop at other resorts so it is quicker to walk to EPCOT as Dolphin/Swan is the first stop. Last stop before Studios though

7) Did your room have a mini fridge in it? On the website when I booked my reservation it said the room had a mini fridge, but reading a post on the DIS boards (LOVE EM LOVE EM LOVE EM!! ) it said something about a bar, but no fridge....

We were at the Dolphin the beginning of this month and we had a mini fridge in our room.

What a great deal for a great hotel!

So many of your questions have been answered but...

Did you do the counter service restaurant (can't remember the name of it) for breakfast at the Dolphin? Was this a good idea, or better to bring food from home / get it from the parks?

We've had meals at Pikabu and they were all good. Breakfast was quick and easy! They have great coffee.
