Walt Disney World College Program?

I did my CP Spring of 2005. I actually ended up extending over that summer because I liked it so much. I did merchandise in Fantasyland at MK. I picked up a LOT of PAC shifts too. I was at Chatham 25102 and 26204. And I applied for Fall 2006. Hope to find out soon!

my dd is very interested in this...what are the requirements to getting accepted and how do you get info on this? she will be attending the local community college in the fall.

I know it isn't "me", but........

My oldest DD is in the program right now! She is having a great time. She is in the advantage program so she won't be home until mid August. I sure do miss her, but it helps knowing how happy she is! :goodvibes

Her sister and I are leaving tomorrow to go for a 5 day visit!! We are very excited!! Staying at the Polynesian for the first time.... :cloud9:

She is a Vacation Planner at the Animal Kingdom and she lives in Vista Way. :sunny:

We can't wait to see her!!

Fall advantage 2001- All Star Sports Front desk(which also meant luggage assistance!)

fall 2002 for me, vista way! i was an Epcot Rescue Ranger, which meant I worked allll over that park, and also at special events like the Candlight Processional & the Steiff Bear convention. :goodvibes aside from a chunk of days spent at various fast food establishments like Liberty Inn and the McDonald's stand in Canada :crazy2: i absolutely loved it. my roommate returned after college to work in research at WDW, and i am very jealous!!!

Well you have to get yourself to Flordia on you own. And you have to pay rent to stay in the furnished town homes. You get paid something like $6-7 hr to work. But you get free access to all the parks.

I ended up spending all the money I made there, plus about $800 of my own cash. But I did everything I could while I was there. I went to a different Disney resturant for lunch almost everyday. And I went to Universal and Bush Gardens, went parasailing, went to the beach a few times and went to a few dinner shows. And I remember 2001 being a good summer for movies - I went almost once a week to the theather. And I somehow bought a lot of Disney Park CDs - you get the discount and all.

So I guess I did pretty well. :rotfl:

I believe it is $6.40 (or something like that) for the CP now. I was able to bring home around $1500.

The current pay rate for CPs is $6.60/hour, with hourly pay premiums for some roles, including Quick Service food and beverage.

I spent Fall 2002 in full service f&b at the ESPN Club, did an AI with the Disney Learning Centers in Fall 2005, and I've stayed with the company, working in Casting.

Tomorrowland Merchandise

I had a love/hate relationship with the program. I'm quite glad I had the opportunity, but I'm so much happier being fulltime.

And hundreds of people have mouse ears that I personalized!

well the getting there wouldnt be a problem, but the 6.30 an hr surely wouldnt be enough to cover the apartment cost....what does that run? it sure sounds like an opportunity of a lifetime though!

not sure what is costs it's automatically deducted from your paycheck. the GREATEST program ever!! i spent all i made, and came home with a lifetime of memories and my roomies even came to my wedding which was of course in WDW! and we are planning a get together next yr in wdw...it's soo worth it. I did 6 yrs a go the last time, and i have no clue what i made and i didn't care. you don't go there to make money (at least in my OP) i went for the experience :) i mean i even went 2 times! and had i not fallen in love i would have gone a third!

It was definitely enough to cover cost of the apartment (fully furnished, including the kitchen, and utilities), plus groceries. I think depending on the size of your apartment it was like $60 a week taken out...

If you have a lot of "bills" then obviously the $6.60 an hour wouldn't be enough. It is definitely not a job where you make money, like other posters said, I didn't take any home. Spent all my free time in the parks and had a blast!!!

Fall 2000- Indian Jones Stunt Show, Drew Carey Sounds Dangerous and the occasional Fantasmic

Best time of my life!!! I met one of my best friends ever down there! Unfortunately I live in PA and he is in WA. But 5 years later we still talk on the phone at least once a month if not more. And we have been lucky enough to visit each other at our homes one time each.

Fall Advantage 2002! I worked at Blizzard beach. I got there in May and loved every minute of it! I met my fiancee there!!! He wokred at Blizzard beach as well!

I lived at Vista Way 1108
