I phoned 407-555-1212 and asked for Walt Disney Reservation Center. They gave me the phone number for Walt Disney Travel Company.... Not what I asked for ....when I called back to verify they said "that is the only phone number we have for Disney". Well... to make the long story short ... we are AP holders and made our ressies (thinking for rooms only) and received a bill from the WD Travel Co for a Package! Not what I asked for.....I informed the woman who I was speaking with back then that I did not need a package as we were AP holders..... I was so upset when I received an invoice from the travel company today and not from WDW direct. I had phoned the wrong #! We have been coming to Disney for over 30 years..... never made this mistake before. I have since re-booked my ressie through WDW direct ... rooms only....and was able to get the same accomodations. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!! Tricky thing... when you end up with the wrong phone number lol.... Verizon sure screwed this one up or did I......:earseek: P.S. I did ask about AP rates ... and was informed keep looking........ so hopefully they are coming.

Hmmm.... It shouldn't matter. All of them are now trained to book room only reservations.

Sometimes the confirmation says "package". I always just look at the deposit. If the deposit due is exactly $200, it's a package. If it's any other figure, you've got room only. Also, with Magic Your Way, you have to SPECIFY the type of ticket you need, so they can't book a package without you answering ticket questions.

Isn't CRO the same as "Walt Disney Travel Co.? When we booked our stay with CRO (the main number) we got a confirmation on the Walt Disney Travel Co. letterhead. I just assumed they were one in the same...

Now CRO and the Walt Disney Travel Company are collectively known as the Disney Reservation Center. They can book anything you need, be it room only or a package.

However, about 2 years ago, they were seperate. The travel company would only book you a package and had some unfavorable cancellation policies.

Walt Disney Travel Company and CRO are the same thing....Lately my confirmations have always listed Package...even though I booked only a room with my AP discount. But like the original posted stated the deposit has only been one night ....

So, it wasn't a verizon boo boo.....You did indeed call the correct thing...either like me you got a room only with a discount which lists as a package on the confirmation or the booking agent made a mistake....glad you were able to straighten it out...

The bill from The Walt Disney Travel Co raised my concern when at the bottom it said "balance due two months prior to my arrival." I know I have NEVER paid anything but one nights deposit with a room only ressie. Even though I had no tickets/dining accomodations on the bill it said "Basic Package". When I phoned Central Reservation ... which I did not get the number from Verizon ... I got the phone number from the back of "El Sol" the newsletter from CSR from June when we were there.... the CM said "why is this under a basic package". So... all and all I saved $300 on the two rooms which I originally booked and my balance of course is not due... only one night deposit. The CM who I spoke with was wonderful. She told me she would first see if the same reservations were available (and they were) before I cancelled through the Travel Company. She also told me that I would have to give one night's deposit again. That was fine... The cancellation from the Walt Disney Travel Company will take apx two months to show on my credit card. All and all I have my new ressie's and cheaper. :Pinkbounc
