Hi there everyone!

My family and I are heading to WDW in just a few weeks time- and can't wait! We have this tour booked and are just wondering if anyone has done this tour before? Do you have any tips? Do you go on any rides?

Thanks for all of your help!

Have a magical day :tink:

Of the many tours I have taken over the years, this was one of the best. And very reasonably priced also.

No tips per se, but do have a camera for you onstage parts of the tour. It is very interesting throughout. The Haunted Mansion portion is very captivating. Generally Winnie the Pooh and Carousel of Progress are the two rides ridden on the tour.

If you have not as yet asked for a discount, do. DVC, AP, and Disney Visa, all 15%.

Enjoy, it's a good one.

We did this tour two weeks ago. It was a great tour. Good length, we started a little after 8:00, finished at Carousel of Progress at 11:45.
Be on time! Don't be "that guy" who keeps the group waiting. Get to the MK by 7:30 to allow time for bag check and going through turnstiles.
Be prepared to take photos with few people around you.
We were offered a bottle of water before we started, take it. I also carried small, discreet snacks.
Tour is walking, also periods of standing and listening. Wear your comfy shoes.
There was one restroom break planned. Some people took a second one towards the end.
We went on three rides, narrated by our guide. Haunted Mansion, Small World, Carousel of Progress.

I know many people like Keys to the Kingdom, but this one fit the bill for us. Not too long and gave us a nice history of Walt Disney, the man.

We did this tour also. It was really good. Three rides for us were Haunted Mansion, Winnie the Pooh and Carousel of Progress. The behind the scenes part was very cool...not giving spoilers. Our guide was very informative and it was fun to learn about how much of Walt is in MK.

Dan and I have enthusiastically promoted this tour for quite a while now. For fans of HM, THIS is the tour you want to take. The behind-the-scenes at HM is super cool. When DW and I took the tour we had no idea how literally, in-depth we would get to experience HM. The rest of the tour was a blast too--you get a showing of COP as a private audience where the guide will point out details to you. When we took the tour the Pooh ride broke down, so we got a "bonus" evacuation and a ride through Peter Pan to make up for it.

I think it also makes a difference if you have at least some interest in the history of Disney, it's really an inspiring story. It doesn't consume a big chunk of your day, and it's much more affordable than some of the other tours.

If you take the tour, please let us know what you thought. :earsboy:

I'm confused, is it always three rides or sometimes two rides? Are the rides generally the same?

I'm somewhat familiar with COP because I saw it first at the world's fair in NYC. While I enjoy it, I'd be disappointed if that's the main attraction on the tour.

It's 3....and trust me, carousel is not the main attraction on the tour.

We did it in January and we didn't do Pooh as part of the tour, just Haunted Mansion and CoP. But, especially for my HM obsessed 12 year old son, the HM part alone made the tour worthwhile! We would both very highly recommend it. It was also really cool for us because we actually visited Marceline, MO last summer and went to the Disney Family Museum. Very cool!

Here is something that probably isn't on the tour. When going through a stack of old post cards and letters my grandfather wrote to my grandmother during World War I, one immediately jumped out at me. Then I looked closer to see where it was from. Grandfather was on an ammunitions train. When ever it stopped to take on water and fuel he would get out and walk around the towns, often buying post cards. It was mailed August of 1918, don't know when the picture of the street was take.

Do I see a castle there at the end of that Main Street?

Nice!

Thank you for this information.
I LOVED KTTK and trying to keep costs somewhat down on our Christmas-New Years trip and this may be a good alternative.
On hold now with Disney to see if they will be doing tours between Christmas and New Years.

If you ever find yourself in the mid-west, you should make the pilgrimage to Marcelline. My wife and I had a lot of fun checking out all the sites.
