Hi DISers,

Just a quick message to let you know that the Walt Disney Family Museum has posted their Oct, Nov and Dec calendars. There are some very cool events happening that will interest all Disney fans.

There are a couple of events that may sell out quickly that I want to tell you about. On Nov 20 you can meet original Mouseketeers Bobby, Sharon and Cubby and hear them talk about their experiences in the club that was made for you and me. On December 5, which is Walt Disney’s birthday, you can hear Disney Legends Alice Davis and Marge Champion share their memories of Walt.

You can purchase tickets from the museum website and print them at home: http://disney.go.com/disneyatoz/familymuseum/index.html

Oh, and they've been working on the website and the ticketing section is a bit squirrely. Sometimes it displays the correct date but the incorrect event title. The tickets do print out with all the correct information.

Carol and I hope to see you at the museum.

See ‘ya real soon,

Michael

Darn. I'll be there one day after their one year anniversary.

Hi Michael,

You'll still have a great time at the museum. There's plenty to enjoy even when they don't have special events.

I want to go to the Family Museum soooooooooo bad. I saw on FB they have a new Mary Blair display. Sigh.......someday.

Thanks! Actually, I think I prefer an "empty" museum, so I can go at my own pace and see more. :goodvibes

They have a fairly extensive Mary Blair exhibit of her artwork for Peter Pan in the theatre lobby. They just installed her work desk outside the lobby this past week. Her artwork and recorded interviews are scattered throughout the museum. What I really enjoy looking at are the dolls she picked up in South America that were her inspiration years later for the "its a small world' characters. The gift shop has been adding Mary Blair items for the last few months.

I was near Tony Baxter when he was in the gift shop and overheard him saying he has two Mary Blair originals in his home. Can you imagine what else he must have?

Michael

Monday, October 4th - probably in the early afternoon. Let me know if you're gonna stalk me. :rotfl:

If you were going to be there on a weekend I'd suggest meeting up for a pre-ABD meet. Let me know what you think of the museum.
