I've just discovered the Walt Disney Collector's society and I am thinking about joining before the year is out so I can get the free Belle figurine. If I joined in the next two weeks, I would still be able to get this if I'm right?

Is there a way to join this society online? The official website appears to have no information on joining over the net. Also are there any shipping charges for the free figurine (to the UK) or do you have to place minimum orders/spend a certain amount throughout the year? Does anyone have any experience of this group? Is it worth the $50 membership fee for the year?

I've belonged to the Collectors Society from the very beginning. I like the sculptures and the pins so for me the $50 is worth it. I'm not sure about shipping charges as I always bought my membership through a local store (which has closed this year so next year will be interesting). No minimum purchases. There are various sculptures released through the year which only members can purchase. You will also receive a quarterly magazine called Sketches.

If you join before the end of the year, you should receive the Belle figurine. You might want to check DisneyShopping.com They sell the figurines on line so you may be able to join the society on line.

The other option is to do a net search on Disney Collectors Society. I'm sure several stores will pop up. Also, the Art of Disney stores at WDW are listed as Gold circle dealers. You might try calling the Disney merchandise number or emailing them.

Good luck!

I have a friend who owns a store (and has an online store) that sells strictly Disneyana merchandise. He's located in Los Angeles California and ships domestic and international. No tax if he ships in the USA (except for CA residents)!!!

The name of his store is Fantasies Come True. You can look it up on the web by searching for that name as one word. He is also a Gold Circle dealer. I can't post the link here. If you want to email me.......please don't use those stupid PM's............I'll send you the link by email.

Even if you aren't interested in buying anything, you should visit his online store. He carries Harmony Kingdoms, Olszewski's, WDCC......and more. Too much good stuff.

His name is Bob, he is a very nice guy and has become a good friend. Vince & Suzi and Lisa have been to his store with me. We spent a LOT!!! :rolleyes1

I can vouch for Bob, next to Main St some of the best Disney collectibles around. Actually he has a better selection.

And a good chunk of my DL budget!

Hi Queenie and fellow Uker,

I am from Dundee and get my membership from our local China Shop, they carry a wide selection of the WDCC and the membership is £45.00.

You pay your local WDCC store the money for the membership where you will get the figurine and they send the paperwork off to Disney who, in about 4 weeks time will send you your membership card and the Sketches booklet and things. You will also get a pin for the membership.

£45 is a lot of money and you have to buy whatever figurine they choose for memberhip each year but I think it's worth it.

If you buy it from the States you will have to pay for shipping which will cost you more than buying it over here.

Do a search and see which of your local shops carries a selection and then pop along and fill out the foms.

If you have any other questions just ask!!! :cheer2:

I bought my first membership in 1999 and have no regrets. I don't buy a lot, but i have bought a couple of membership pieces (such as Maid Marion from the Robin Hood collection). I am sure you will have no problem finding a local dealer to purchase the kit from and any figurines going forward. :)

I am a charter member and really enjoy collecting the sculptures. I just received the winter 2005/06 issue of sketches and the gift sculpture for 2006 is the Little Mermaid.

I think I will wait until I go back to Paris next year and get the Little mermaid piece there If any one has a like to show the piece that would be great
