DH and I are thinking of taking a trip to Chicago to see the exhibit. I saw on the D23 site that we can buy discounted tickets. Do we need to purchase some sort of a general admission ticket and then a seperate ticket for the exhibit? They want to see the D23 card to verify the discount but I'm wondering if could still order tickets online to pick up at will call in order to have a reserved time?

Secondly, we've attended the last two D23 expos and I'm wondering how much "new" stuff is presented as part of the exhibit. If the majority of the items are previous things they already shown at the Expo, I'm not sure if it's worth the price of admission.

I'd love to hear from anyone that's already expereinced it and any tips you might have.

The entry into the museum and the entry into the exhibit are two different tickets-so yes, you will need to purchase admission into the Museum of Science and Industry. We went a couple months ago.

Personally, while the exhibit was cool to see, it wasn't anything great, and I usually love museums! I found there were so many cooler things at the Museum compared to this exhibit.

We saw the exhibit about a year and a half ago when it was at the Ronald Reagan presidental library in Southern California. We were there to see the Reagan stuff, so the Disney exhibit was a happy surprise for us. It was okay. Some of the set pieces were cool, but most of the Walt Disney stuff reminded me of stuff I'd already seen at One Man's Dream. I love Walt Disney and museums, but the exhibit didn't really WOW me. I'm glad I didn't make a special trip just to see it.

I agree. A lot of it was stuff we'd seen before, and the plaques and text around the exhibit were stuff we already knew.

Thank you for all the great advice. Based on the information presented above, we've decided to pass on the exhibit.

I went to see it about 6 months ago. I agree that it's similar to One Man's Dream. They had costumes from Alice, Pirates, & Mary Poppins. They had a doll from IASW. We are members so it didn't cost us anything. If you haven't been to that museum before I highly recommend it.

Oh, they also had the same thing from The Animation attraction at DHS. The one where they teach you to draw a character.
