walmart

LOL, Mono rail, that goes for our wal mart too.

I would have asked the store manager to show this dolt the tape becasue I am sure the video tape all sections of the store.

Our Targets sell opened packages, clearance priced, but taped up. I think retail employees need to think about the fact that if they're rude too their customers, customers will just shop somewhere else and lose their business. There are quite a few stores I will not go back into ever again because of poor service.

From what I've seen at my local Wal-Mart's, she'd be promoted in no time! I'm not joking, either.

Thats crazy!

Sadly I did not get the womans name but I could definatly describe her. I'm just used to dealing with such difficult people soit doesn't bother me all too much. But I was just left amazed at the way she behaved and even said "I saw you do it" To me its like why would you say such a thing when you really didn't see me do this?

Reminds me I stilll haven't bought curtains(well bought the kitchen curtains, but now the older curtains don't match) ... I should really go do that now :) To target we go

She actually yelled at me! so here is the story.

I'm in the curtain isle looking for curtains and I find a pair of very very cute ones on the floor outside the package. So I picked them both up-Right as I picked them up a lady came around the corner and said "STOP IT STOP IT WHAT ARE YOU DOING! YOU OPENED THAT. YOU OPENED THAT. YOU CANN"T OPEN THAT" I said "Oh, sorry but I just picked this up the floor." "DON"T YOU LIE TO ME , I KNOW YOU DID IT" "I SAW YOU" I said "what excuse me but I did not open these, I picked them up of the floor." She snatches them out of my hand finds the package and starts mubbling under her breath. So I just left. Somebody was clearly having a bad day. I would have spoken to manangment but I thought about her family(If she had one-its hard to find work around here)

And you think management CARES??? I have complained about WalMart employees before only to get the "blank" look. WalMart KNOWS that for what they pay, that's what you get.. (Plus the management at my old WalMart was just as bad! I just try not to shop there if there are ANY other options!)

I think it was really big of the OP to let it go. Many a time I've been PO'd by an employee in store/restaurant, but seldom have I made a complaint, for the same reason as the OP. Those are really miserable, bottom-of-the-heap jobs. People only take such jobs out of desperation. I just don't want to add to anyones' misery just to get back. Oh, yes, I agree, if someone doesn't like their job they shouln't take it out on everyone around them. And I'm not a self-effacing Pollyanna. I do a burn over mistreatment, too. However, I tell myself it just isn't worth the hassle. The only time I ever complained about an employee (a Walmart employee), was something that simply couldn't be ignored. My children were 2 & 3 at the time. We had bought some shoes that came in plastic backpacks. My son (he was 2 years old at the time!) had taken the shoes out of the pack and was playing with them. This was after we had paid for them and were on the way out. A Walmart employee was doing random checks at the door (they do this with everyone at Sams Club, but this was Walmart). She demanded to see my receipt, then proceeded to check each item off the receipt--we had about 60 items. She then literally grabbed the bag out of ds hands and said "how can this be paid for? There's no price tag". The price tag was on the shoes, which were originally in the bag, but she wouldn't believe it. She then snatched a water bottle from ds (who was crying then) and asked why it wasn't on the receipt. Needless to say that one received a formal complaint from me. WalMart actually responded with a "Thank you for your comments..." letter, and a $10 gift card. I had the satisfaction of learning later that she was no longer employed there. But she deserved to lose her job, snatching items from a baby and accusing him of stealing! :furious:

I agree...I let my dollars do the talking. I spend my money in places that treat me right-even if I have to pay more.

There was a restaurant that we used to go to all the time...3-4 times a month. Then after about a year the service really started slipping...on 2 consecutive trips our names "magicaly" dissapeared :confused3 from the hostess list...I mentioned something to the manager on the 2nd occasion(and I do not need free food to apease me, so I waited until we were on the way out. Fast Forward...after about a 6 week break..they screw up our order...so it looks like we will be visiting other places in the near future.

If they're taking such huge losses on people opening packages to feel the curtains in her section, they can just take that opened package and use the curtains inside as a display model, instead of taking a loss on it.

I had a similar experience while shopping for a torch type lamp in Wal-Mart. They didn't have a display model for this particular lamp, and the box did not say what the shade was made of. Anyway in this situation I felt comfortable opening a product since no one would assist me, and there is no display available. As soon as I started to, this old crabby man in a blue vest starts yelling down the aisle, and accusing me of opening other lamps nearby, saying he can't get them back in the box.

So I said "OK Sir, can you show me where the display model is". He looks around and says, "there isn't one, but it's a lamp what more do you need to know..." I asked him if the shade was metal or plastic. He looks at the box for a minute or two and concludes it doesn't matter either way. Well since I was getting no where this jerk, I took the product to the Customer Service desk. I reported how he treated me, and they apologized. They gladly opened the box for me. It was metal and I purchased it right there.
