Had fun at Target today!

My first transaction:

I bought 2 Quattro Intuition razors for $6.99 each, then used 2 $4.00 off coupons for them (got them BOTH in the same SS coupon flier yesterday). Then I got a $5 gift card for buying two of the razors.
So paid $6.83 (tax is so high here!) but got $5 back.

Next I got 4 Cheetos @ $1.29 each, used the 4 $1.00 off Cheetos coupon from Targets website. I got 3 applesauces, used 3 $1.00 off coupons from Targets website and 3 .55 coupons from Motts website.
Found some GermX that was 10oz. for $1.79. That was cheaper than the Target brand and I needed some, so got two of those (no coupons). And had to get Tide (DH doesn't like any other/cheaper kind ) that was $7.00
So minus my coupons, my GC from the razors I spent a little over $9.00 on my second transaction.

Not as good as others, but pretty good for me!!

I had a HORRIBLE experience at Target yesterday and I am the OP so I thought I should share.

The cashier REFUSED to take my coupons. She insisted they were copies... which they were NOT... The manager also refused them. I felt like a criminal or like I was trying to pull one over on them... I would never do that. The cashier got all snippy and pushed my cart out of the way with my 2 babies in it!!! She also threw my manufacturer coupon at me because it would not scan! Needless to say, I wrote a letter to corporate explaining how I was treated.

I am so sorry!! I am glad you wrote a letter to corporate, but I would go one step further and call the corporate office.
If I store doesn't take the internet coupons, I have heard of people (on other websites) pull out their cell phone and call Targets corporate office while they are right there at the store.

The last 2 weeks I've picked up merchandise that is SUPPOSED to come with the fee gc and at the end of my tansaction no gc if offered. I have spoken up both times only to be told "the things you got aren't included". I have responded by telling them I took items that had signs directly in front of them OFFERING the gc. Well in my letter I stated that since the economy is so horrible right now that people WILL BE using coupons. If they wont let me use them there- I will go somewhere that WILL let me use them. I CHOOSE to shop at Target. There are plenty of other store around to choose from.

Get the number and save it to your cell phone and then you will have it on you in the store. I have the corp walmart office phone number saved in my phone. So far I haven't had to actually call, mentioning I have it and showing the pain the butt cashier or manager seems to help fix any problems .

I am sorry you were treated that way . I love target and haven't had any issues but if someone tossed coupons at me and shoved my kids out of the way there would be some issues!

You will find out that most couponers will not scan a coupon and put it on the computer. For one, it isn't right and makes most coupons void, and two, if people continue to do this it hurts all couponers (i.e. stores no longer take coupons that previously had limits and are scanned to be printed unlimited times). You will also find that many scanned coupons will NOT scan at the register (they beep). Personally, I wont scan the coupon. I take the $1.00 target coupon and get them for .64 cents as many times as I want... but that .55 coupon can only be gotten as many times as I can find people to print it for me from other computers.

This is a prime example of why scanning coupons isn't okay. The OP didn't scan coupons (or print scanned ) im sure... but the end result is THIS. The people think they are copies-- why do they think that? Because someone has come through before with scanned coupons!


OP- I am SO SORRY about what happened to you. Definitely call corporate! My last trip to Target I got a 'huffer and puffer'.... im starting to get a feel for their workers (we have a small regular target).... I thought she looked nice but I was mistaken. Ill remember not to travel down her line again! Gl and let us know what they say!

Definitely no scanned coupons.. I would not do that... Using my coupons I printed though.. I WILL use! I feel so liberated after calling Target. Thanks all!

Sorry I didnt realize. Like I said I am VERY NEW to the coupon world...lol. My DDs print just messed up so I cant print it from her computer as it said i went over the limit even though i didnt print and mine is outta ink. But the website now says they are out of the coupons (the .55 ones)

I can't remember the size, but mine were at the registers.....near like the candy bars and gum. They are bigger than the size that goes in my kids lunches, but smaller than a regular bag.

No problem at all! I just wanted to tell you why you might not get the scanned coupon here. Although that does stink and has happened to me many times- my printer wont read or will stall and then I lose that print.

They are the cheeto's that are opposite the registers. They are with the other "impulse buys".... and I found mine at the very very bottom of that section. They are marked $1.29 I think... so its only .29 OOP. Not bad!

I agree that Target customer service has gone down hill the last six months or so.

They currently have a sutton dodge meat coupon good until March 28th. And I tried to use it yesterday and the cashier told me that they had decided in their team meeting that morning that they weren't going to accept the meat coupon anymore this week since so much of the meat is on sale.

I said you can't just decide not to accept a Target coupon -- and she says....

"YES, WE JUST DID"

could not believe it.
