Walmart Return Policy

How liberal is their policy? I just found a couple things I meant to return a while ago in the back of the closet with the receipt attached. It's dated 8/1/09. Should I bother to take the items back or will they prorate to lowest price sold?

After 90 days it's up to the store to take it back or not, I think something about getting store credit only.

My experience with Wal-Mart is that they are very, very liberal with returns. I've taken things back without receipts numerous times and never had a problem. So I would think that since you have your receipts, you should be good.

Christmas 2008, I saw a set of Rubbermaid storage containers on sale for $8. Told my MIL I wanted a set for Christmas, she buys them for me. I go back a few days later (still on sale for $8) and buy another set to have more. I use one set, but leave the other set sitting in the box in our dining room until Novemeber 2009. Took it back (no receipt), and got $13 back for the return (I guess that was the price in store at that time).

The Wal Mart in our small town in TX has a 3 item per year return policy. Basically if you don't have your receipt, you have to give them your drivers license number and they keep a record of how many non-receipt items you have returned.

Very ridiculous if you ask me, especially considering the amount of money we spend there.

It depends where you live. A lot of them in California it's "no way Jose." I did return an item with a receipt and it rang higher then I paid. I told them this but the manager made me take the higher price and treated me like dirt because I told them what I thought was the honest thing to do.
