Was it always closed on Easter?

I don't ever remember WalMart being closed on Easter, but I could be wrong. Everything else is closed.

Actually my local CVS drug store is open today.

I know a lot of our stores are open today... not sure about the Walmart though. Just got back from the grocery store myself

I know Kroger, Meijers, and CVS are open here. I coulda swore Target is too but I may be wrong.

Who remembers the old days when nothing was open on a holiday. To think back about that now, it's kind of strange. I know my mom use to really have to prepare to have everything she needed to make Easter dinner -- or go without. Things certainly have changed.

KMart I think was always open on Easter. I know Target is closed, Kohls is closed. Only stores I have seen open are the food stores.

I liked it when everything was closed on Sunday. It made for more of a family day.

I remember when the stores were closed on Sundays and all Holidays. I think we need to go back to that time so that everyone can spend more time with their families. Whether they celebrate or not! Ok, I'm on a roll here, sorry! But, this everyone going to 24/7, customer service, blah,blah,blah.....................it's all just greed and takes away from family time/life. Ok, I'm off the band wagon. Don't mean to offend ANYONE! That's just my story and I'm sticking to it!!!

When I used to work at Wal-Mart, it closed at 6pm on Christmas Eve and all day Christmas day. That was it.
I had to work one Easter.

is CLOSED today...but from what I hear, not for long. It might change in the future Yes, I remember when there was NOTHING open on Easter and Christmas, not even Gas Stations. Target is Closed here, but Kmart is Open.

Why should stores be closed on Easter but opened on 4th of July. Seems to me that the 4th is a celebration for all people living in the United States whereas Easter is a religious holiday that is not celebrated by all people. Although I do celebrate Easter I do feel bad for those people who don't or who work six days a week and use Sunday to accomplish their shopping and errands.

In a predominantly Christian country my personal belief is it should be closed on Easter. This allows their employees to worship and spend time with their families on the most important Christian Holiday of the year. I think we can all live without Walmart, Kroger and the other stores for a couple of days a year.

Maybe not PC but I don't really care.

Our Walmart is open today. Target is closed. Kroger is open. Don't know about K-Mart, they closed last week.

Super Walmart and several grocery store chains were open, but with abbreviated hours.
