I am taking the paper out of my son's room and plan to paint the walls. Therefor the walls must be completely clean of the paste. I have all the paper down but there are little bits of glue left on the walls here and there. I can get the leftover glue off if I wet it down and then scrape it with my fingernail. I hope someone has a better way!!!!!! This could take a long time, to say nothing of wear and tear on my nails!! Any ideas? Thank-you. :D Could be I have been watching to much Trading Spaces for my own good!

Lowe's sells wallpaper glue remover. Just spray it on, leave it sit for a few minutes, and scrape it off with a plastic putty type scraper. Don't use metal, you can damage the walls.

Do you have a paint scraper? It looks a little like a spatula, but is used to scrape off old paint. If you got the walls wet and then scraped with that, it would save your fingernails and get rid of the glue too. I still think it's going to take a while though!:teeth:

Hot water and liquid Downy will take it off. Then you can wipe the walls down with Vinegar and water to get any residue of your walls.

Thank-you all very much. I actually used a solution of 1/2 DIF gel and 1/2 Downey. It works great for the paper. I also have a paint scraper but it was not small enough for the residue. I did go out to get a small plastic one, that might be better. I will try the Vinegar and water this afternoon. I have taken paper down before but never had so much paste left on the walls. Anyway thanks for the tips and I am making progress, just much slower than I wanted!:D

Sorry it is taking so long, but when its all done, schedule a manicure;)

Thanks for the encouragement. A manicure would be great except I have no nails left! A little tip for you all if you ever find yourself in this pickle, I am useing the vinegar and water solution and a kitchen Dobie sponge. It works almost like sand paper but is soft enough not to damage the wall. Now that I have found a method it is going a bit faster. Honestly, I have never seen so much paste residue left from paper. I was hopeful to begin painting today! I guess DS can sleep on the sofa for a couple more nights!:D
