In Jan 2003 my wife and 2yr old DD and I were at Epcot and they had photo booths set up to take your individual photo and then they were going to make it into a small tile or metal plate of some kind and attach it to these odd shaped geometric figures out by Spaceship Earth. Am I remembering this right, can anyone help me with this......anyone else do this? We will be there in March 2008 and want to find photo that was taken. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like leave a legacy. We got this free when we stayed at cbr last trip.

We had our photo taken and this is acid etched onto a metal plate which you can see right before you get to spaceship earth.

A few weeks later we got a card through the post with what the etching would look like and a location address so we could find it.

Welcome to the DIS, DC.

From Deb's site.........

The Leave A Legacy program, first launched at Epcot in Fall 1999, has been discontinued as of June 16, 2007. The current display of more than 550,000 tiles at the main entrance of Epcot will remain for the time being. The Leave A Legacy Locator station will be relocated to the Camera Center underneath Spaceship Earth. If you need to get information about your Leave A Legacy tile from home, contact the following email address: WDW.EC.legacy@disney.com......
We have two tiles, from our '99 family trip, one of my wife, Marie, and myself, and one of our two children, Natalie and Vince. Always neat stopping by and have good memories to times past.

We did this in 2000 (just of DD). Each trip, we locate our tile, and take a pic of DD pointing to her tile and a close up of DD's tile. :goodvibes

Here are our tiles done many years ago:

I have a Leave A Legacy tile, too.

It will be nearly impossible to find if you don't have the coordinates that were sent to you after you bought the tile. You should have gotten a gray packet of info in the mail a week or two after your pic was taken, with a copy of the pic printed on clear acetate, and the coordinates showing the tiles location within the obelisks.

There are a lot of pics on each plate, a lot of plates on each obelisk, and a lot of obelisks.

We have one too - from back in 1999 - only DH and I (taken before DD was born). It's always fun to "find" your tile! If you still have the co-ordinates Disney sent you, you should be able to find your tile no problem!:hippie:

Yes, that's it, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I'm thinking my wife got the packet in the mail after we got back......now, I hope she knows where it is!!

Our seasons are reversed from yours (Fall is Oct-Dec).

I was also there in April, 1999 and Leave A Legacy had not yet been installed. I got my tile in October, 2000.
