Walkway to DHS from BWI

Is it more convenient using the walkway from BWV than BWI? We stayed last year at BWV and found the walkway very convenient. This time we are booked at BWI (standard) and looking at the map it seems harder and longer than walking from BWV but a bit closer to Epcot.

I just cut through the hotel to the pool area and left by the pool exit to the walkway.

I was staying at BWI. BWV is a bit closer but it wasn't by much.

I always stay on the Boardwalk Inn side and I also walk through the Luna Park Pool on the Boardwalk Villas side when going to the Hollywood Studios walkway.
